What kind of cream is good for dry skin?

I just wanted to know what is a good cream for my skin? I have very dry skin and I get irritated a lot. My skin is always itching and some creams make me itch more. What is a good type of lotion that I can use that I can buy in store. What kind of cream is good for dry skin?
Aveeno specializes for that purpose!

They have so many creams designed for your condition

and you can get it at any drugstoreWhat kind of cream is good for dry skin?
First and foremost, use moisturisers and oily creams. There is no reason to buy expensive fragrant creams.

Your doctor or pharmacist can recommend some inexpensive perfume-free creams, and may be able to give you some samples.

Depending on how dry your skin is it may be best to use a relatively thin moisturising lotion or cream in the summer and switch to a thicker more oily moisturising ointment in the winter.

Moisturising shower gels and bath additives that don鈥檛 strip the skin of its natural oils can be used instead of soap when washing. Again, your pharmacist can recommend products.

Dry skin is a feature of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis and, in these cases, the doctor or the dermatologist may choose to treat the condition with a steroid cream that reduces inflammation.

I like Clinique's dramatically different moisturizer. It's light for daytime, but works well. I too have really dry skin, and it gets much worse in the winter. I have to use heavy duty moisturizers then, and I use them at night before bed. Here's what works: vaseline (or petroleum jelly), and lanolin. Put them on before bed and put a towel over your pillow case! Vaseline also works really well on feet/heels, legs, arms, everywhere! You'll see a difference.

Below is a link to a blog with this and more information.

Hope that helps!
