What kind of facial creams are good for dry skin?

After I shower and dry off. My face is always extremely dry. Like I just got out of a chlorinated swimming pool. I usually just use Vaseline and rub in very well. But I hate that greasy feel. What kind of creams work well, don't have that greasy feel, and I can rub in well. I'm also looking for something that doesn't make my face break out in acne as well after applying it by clogging pores and such. What kind of facial creams are good for dry skin?
I use proactive cream. There whole brand is great for me. Or try neutrogena skin id. When you have dry spots scrub it then right away put cream on. Do this day and night. When looking for face stuff try to find something that says for dry skin, it should help. Best of luck. What kind of facial creams are good for dry skin?
I always use first aid cream. It's not greasy like all the other creams.

Hi all what is the best face cream 2 use 4 dry skin and if youve got acne?

thank u!Hi all what is the best face cream 2 use 4 dry skin and if youve got acne?
I am an esthetician. It honestly depends allot more then just dry acne skin. If your sensitive or not..you could not even be dry and just have a comprimised barrier. As far as products it depends waht yourwilling to spend. Best bet is to go get a skin consultation done by an esthetician at a spa. There almost always free. call around and ask, once you find one they'll analyze your skin and telly ou al you need ot know. If you cant afford professional products see if theyll recomend something at aretail store. good luck!Hi all what is the best face cream 2 use 4 dry skin and if youve got acne?
I have mild acne and I started using Philosophy's Hope in a Jar and Hope in a bottle, both are great for acne prone skin
Skin care - NATIQUE
this is a big misconception for acne prone skin you skin is most likely dry due to acne products and dehydration(lack of moisture drink 8-10 glasses of water .do not wash in hot water) you cleanser should contain a salicylic acid to reduce oily breakouts and will not strip so much of the skins natural moisture . noooo creams on acne prone skin look for serums with hylauranic acid a humectant to bind moisture to the skin try Dermalogica products no proactive it is irritating and can sensitize the skin and don't over wash your skin
THE BEST PRODUCT FOR YOUR SKIN IS ARBONNE CLEAR ADVANTAGE.

  • What is the best cream to put on after tanning so your skin wont become dry?

You want to use something that really penetrates your skin, but is also pretty cheap if you tan a lot. When I go tanning, I use Lubriderm Sea Kelp lotion. It smells fresh and clean, and it is only around $9 for 16 oz. This stuff makes my skin stay soft all day. What is the best cream to put on after tanning so your skin wont become dry?
My mom goes tanning all the time and she uses this lotion called Hemp but dont worry it has nothing to do with drugs or anything...haha. Jergens always works also.

My baby is 2 months old and his skin is really dry & sensitive i tried all babies cream but no change, WCID?

I use Eucerin CREAM (the one in the tub). My pediatrician said lotion only moisturizes for 24 hours. The cream will help with the dryness. It has been working really well but living in Phoenix I think it is something we will always battle. Even with the cream she has bouts of dry skin every once in a while but they are nowhere near as bad as they were. Good luck!My baby is 2 months old and his skin is really dry %26amp; sensitive i tried all babies cream but no change, WCID?
Try natural olive oil. It does wonders for everything else. It is the only thing I use on my 3 month old face. I do not use anything else as even if its natural it has ';some'; kind of perfume or preservative in it.

It seems to keep my little ones skin really nice and soft.
What did you wash his clothes and blankets with; maybe it's the detergent.

Daughter had sensitive skin; we could barely use anything on her. I've always had luck with aveeno; the doc didn't prescribe anything?
    It sounds like egsma.

Whats the best cream to use for very bad dry skin for men?

I prefer the L'Oreal range of male moisturisers.Whats the best cream to use for very bad dry skin for men?
If you are talking all over body cream then ask your GP for Cetraben or something like that. Nivea or Aquaous will do too.

If it's just facial dryness then a nice moisturiser will suffice. Dr Frank does indeed use L'Oreal- Dr Frank hardly has any facial lines at all. If you like to splash out, Liz Earle do a nice range for men:- http://uk.lizearle.com/products.php?rang鈥?/a>

If you don't mind having girly things the best moisturiser is this one:- http://uk.lizearle.com/index_2.php?userp鈥?/a>

    OR

Dermalogica do a great one too, again big fan of their products myself:-

    Nivea is good for everyone.

Exfoliate your skin first though. That means using a facial scrub or special microdermasion face cloth which will get rid of the dry skin flakes and make the problem easier.
Up your intake of both essential fatty acids (cod liver oil) and water. Putting cream on is only a temporary solution.
I like aveeno. They have some very good skin cream. But Jergens is also good.

Drink some extra glasses of water. Get good sleep--helps heal faster, use neutrogena acne lotion that has an exfoliating agent such as salycilic acid. Also, honey--leave it on for about 15-20 minutes--works wonders--skin is so soft afterward. How can I get rid of dry burning skin on my face no cream seems to work please help?
I do not know what soap you are using to wash your face, but that may contribute to the burning. Do not use any soap on your face except Dove for sensitive skin (unscented) OR Cetaphil wash for sensitive skin - those are two mildest cleansers you can buy. Second, Cetaphil products are highly recommended by our dermatology office (and I use only these) and are very very mild to most everybody's skin. You could try the Cetaphil lotion or cream and see how that is for you. Buy these at most any store or Walmart. You could even just try a very thin layer of Vaseline ointment. Many lotions and cream contain alcohol and other potentially irritating ingredients. The best thing you can do is use as mild a product as you can and purest. Do not use anything with fragrance. If you think shaving or shaving cream could be doing this (you can get a skin burn from shaving), look on the internet for shaving creams for sensitive skin and see what is out there to try. If all fails, seek a dermatologist for help. How can I get rid of dry burning skin on my face no cream seems to work please help?
    Hi!

Have you tried aqueous cream? It is a water based moisturiser which is really mild and will soothe as well as treat the dry skin. You could also try using a little neat lavender oil, which, along with tea tree oil, is okay to use directly on the skin without a carrier oil. It is often used to treat burns (it is an ingredient in sudocrem) and will help to soothe the area.

    Hope this helps.
One answer suggested what is actually called bag balm (teet cream)

but I don't recommend putting it on your face. Get yourself some Aquaphor:

Eucerin and Aquaphor Skincare Products. Nonirritating, fragrance-free, ... Aquaphor actually helps reduce healing time of cracked, dry, damaged skin and minor burns. ...
Get yourself an Aloe Vera plant and squeeze the jelly like substance out of one of the succulent's leaves and apply to the face. Do this morning and night. You will feel a soothing almost instantly and in a week it will heal your problem.

NEVER use soap on your face. It dries out the natural oils that are there for a reason. Instead, use a mild soap free cleanser.
I have psoriasis, so I know a little bit about dry skin. The best thing that I have ever, ever used is plain, old fashioned vaseline. Any brand, the cheaper the better. Works wonders every time!
I think the thing you need to investigate is what is CAUSING this dry burning skin! Then you can treat it effectively!

    Try- Sudocrem, Savlon Cream,
try noxzema cream f you havent already and after u rinse it use caldryl lotion
Get pure lanolin. it is completely natural, cheap, and works very fast. I have had to deal with this myself.
    Bepanthol
Use Nipple cream sounds wearied bit it works trust me (:

What is a good cream cleanser or liquid soap for dry, sensitive skin and also takes off eye makeup?

Original Noxema. My Grandma used it and introduced it to me when I was 12. I have used it now for 24 years. I am 36 and still get carded to buy alcohol. Follow up with a good face lotion... Oil of Olay. Sounds old-fashioned, but I believe in sticking with the simple stuff! What is a good cream cleanser or liquid soap for dry, sensitive skin and also takes off eye makeup?

only one; Cetaphil....but its expensive!! BUT most drugstore chains have their own version of it, with identical ingredients..it's dermatologist recommended and very very gentle....look for it...CVS, Walgreens, etc. all have their own versions of it, right next to the brand name on the shelf.worth looking into.
    hi

I would advice you to try some home based remedies for skin ,hair and weight problems, this link has some good information it sure did help me so here goes,

    http://tinyurl.com/m6kcr

    good luck
nivea visage lotion cleanser is great, it's gentle and cleans perfect plus it leaves your face smelling like a soft ocean breeze
Aveeno is great for all of your needs. I use it in the shower and before bed. I love it.

Is it normal for my skin to be dry/peeling while using the papaya kojic soap, whitening cream and lotion?

I stopped using the soap on my face, bc it was causing some irritation. I do bath with the soap though. After using the products for about 4days, I'm already noticing my dark marks are fading. Just wanted to know if the peeling/dryness is normal. Is it normal for my skin to be dry/peeling while using the papaya kojic soap, whitening cream and lotion?
yesIs it normal for my skin to be dry/peeling while using the papaya kojic soap, whitening cream and lotion?
Yes it is normal from those products but you need to back off on how often you use them if that is happening. Also, use a moisturizer!
I was going to say that the soap probably does't like you. The enzymes in the papaya could be doing some harm as well. The peeling process the enzymes cause could be your problem. Try using it only twice a week and see what happens. If that doesn't work, see a skincare professional at a high end salon before you damage your skin permanently in trying to find the fix you need on your own.
Yes thats normal to use it but if you have very sensitive skin you only use 3 times a week and if you have dry skin then apply your own moisturizing lotion so that your skin will not dry out...
    You're clearly allergic.
If your face is drying out that means you are using a product that is for oily skin. If your skin is not oily you need to use a product for dry skin so that your face wont peel. Try Aveeno

Anyone know a good face cream to go under foundation for dry skin one that goes right in and is not sticky?

Hi I got one the other day from wilkinsons own called Skin Therapy Moisturising Lotion, its fragrance free, and allergen free, and its only 75p. if your like me and and have sensitive skin then you probaly will have to watch which ones you use. I find that Im allergic to nearly every moisturiser I have tried, Even the fragrance fress ones and the ones for senisitive skin. I have tried, even resulted to expensive ones like clinique and ones from The Body Shop and found that there were no good either. I find some like you say are sticky and some clog pores and some make the face look shiny.

As the weather is getting alot colder I needed something that im not allergic to as my skin is dry already and I dont want it getting any worse, so on an off chance I went into the wilkisons store and was looking at there range of moisturisers and all the brand named ones I had tried and didnt work. So I seen one of there own, its called Skin Therapy, Its great and it soaks in well and doesnt leave any residue on the skin and doesnt clog pores, it usually takes about a day for my skin to react to moisturiser and I have been using this one morning and night and I havent had a reation too it, which is a good sign.

As its a lotion it is great for undermake up as it sinks in as soon as you put it on, its really liquidy almost like water so its not thick at all.

Its worth a try as its only 75p I know it might not give you the softest skin in the world. I find with lots of the more expensive ones they moisturise well but leave me with break outs, or a rash. so its not worth the risk. But at least with this moisturising lotion you are still giving skin the moisture it needs rather than non at all.

I wasted 19 quid on some moisturiser and its a load of rubbish, so its a waste to spend so much on 1 product.Anyone know a good face cream to go under foundation for dry skin one that goes right in and is not sticky?
Oil of Olay Hydrating it's GREATAnyone know a good face cream to go under foundation for dry skin one that goes right in and is not sticky?
Yes, the best face cream ever invented is by Bliss and it's called ';the youth as we know it';. It is everything you need in a face cream, and is just that, creamy (not oily or even sticky- that can feel quite nasty if it's sticky). This cream makes your face glow with natural radiance and it also has stuff in it that helps fill in those tiny annoying lines (a.k.a. wrinkles) if you got them, and best of all, it blends right in and your skin is hydrated, refreshed, and oh so delicious! I love this cream, I wear it daily (under my makeup) and I lather it on at night before I go to bed! Try it, you won't be dissapointed. And by the way, I don't work for Bliss either, I'm just a mega fan, because this face cream rocks!
really good one is also MAC StudioFix Moisturizer ( has SPF 15) and you can use it anytime under foundation. Works great, also more expensive Chanel RECTIFIANCE INTENSE skin care, the products are great too!
clean %26amp; clear morning burst moisturizer is pretty good

but try a foundation that has a cream built in

    like maybelline superstay silky foundation

it looks great and stays on for a really long time
    i use the clinique 3 step, it's amazing x
I know this really good cream that is natural, is made from 7 natural oils %26amp; 14 herbs %26amp; it feels %26amp; smells wonderful %26amp; is very good for dry skin.. you can only buy it online (P%26amp;P is free):

    http://www.victoriahealth.com/vhstore/pc鈥?/a>

it works deep for dry skin %26amp; it doesn't just hydrate the surface temporarily like many commercial creams I've tried.
    try Clinique's moisturizer..it works wonders
OK the best face cream is the Hydrating Creme Concentrate by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. It is an oil free cream that dries to a powdery finish almost immediately. I love it. No sticky left overs. Did I say I love it. Oh yeah I did and I do. LOL You can find it at beeroyalproducts.com.
All You Need by Prescriptives cosmetics is good.
    Avon solutions is very good
i always use dove because i have the same problem its good trust me!!!
How about trying a primer if you have dry skin? I use MAC under my foundation and it's amazing
    avon.
don't know about the cream but you should drink more water if you have dry skin trust it works
    nivea, its amazing!
Skeet Skeet Skeet is a good one
My girlfriend used to always talk highly of one. It was like skeet something.

Anyway, she said it worked well and she loved it.
Clinique!!! dramatically different moisturizing lotion!!! try it, best iv ever used!
try something from oil of olay. i use their beauty fluid. it makes my skin soft and supple. not greasy or sticky at all.
simple hydrating light moisturiser is the best
Neutrogena anti wrinkle spf 15 is almost imperceptible and it protects and heals your skin without making foundation crack and without changing the pigment. i've tried all the ones being recommended and they are too sticky or too expensive.
    Lancome Renergie, it works!
The funniest thing is that with all of these new creams that promise all kinds of results, the best ';non sticky'; face cream is good old oil of Ole. It's very inexpensive and works wonders. The ';sticky'; feeling that you get is often the SPF materials. I would recommend getting regular pink oil of ole and then using a make-up with SPF properties. You have to have SPF for protection from the sun. I can't remember for sure if regular pink oil of ole does now have SPF I don't remember but it is not ';sticky'; Good luck!
    Neutrogena.

It works amazingly well by hydrating, keeping skin shine free, and its great for sensitive skin!

I recommend it to all of my friends! Also, my makeup artist friend uses it on clients with dry skin! It can be found in your drugstore, and it's well priced!
As a makeup artist, i always recommend jojoba oil to all my clients. It's composition is the closest thing to sebum (skins natural oil) it absorbs deeper into the skin than cream and does not leave the skin oily at all plus it is fantastic as a wrinkle preventative. It will cost less than any of the miracle creams and will last for ages. Leave it to absorb into your skin for 5-10 mins before applying your foundation. Trust me you won't be disappointed.
Max factor do a fantastic foundation. It is split between founation and the other half is a cream to moisturise and give skin an even base for the foundation. Its about 拢12.99 and lasts ages.

Don't use cheap products that will not show you long term affects until it is too late. A bit more expensive, but my wife swears by Nuskin, which I know little about, but again, she swears by it. You can find out about their products here at http://www.nuskin.com and good luck. What is the best facial cream for a very dry skin?
I cannot stress how important a good facial skin care regime is for dry skin as a sufferer from it myself it is ESSENTIAL to do your regime twice a day. Preferably at night and in the morning.

    Make sure you:

    C- Cleanse

    T- Tone

    M-Moisturise

It is important that you find moisturers that are rich and creamy that will nourish dry skin. Look for ingridents such as shea butter and always check that it is compatible with sensitive skin as many dry skin sufferers have sensitive skin.

Here is a list of good moisturers for dry skin:

No7 Advanced Hydration day cream- http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s鈥?/a>

    Botanics skin calming cream- http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s鈥?/a>

xWhat is the best facial cream for a very dry skin?
Dermaveen, it can be applyed anywhere on the body, and i have used it myself, as i used to suffer from severe dry skin, but its all gone now, and everyone compliments me on my beautiful skin, and how soft and smooth it is. Plus its very affordable only $15.00 (AUDollars) For A 500ml Bottle, they also come in a range of washes, bath powders etc, as you may know, soap isn't good for dry skin, as it dries it out even more.

There's also a few tips. that i have heard of, and used myself

    1. drink water it flushes your system and clears your skin

    2. eat lots of pretein rich food like chicken

    3. eat green leafy evegables like spinach and brocolli

    4. eat vegatbles and fruit

    5. leave oilive oil on your hair overnight for deep conditoning

    6. wash face with good clenaser and then mostruise

    7. dont pick spots

    8. splash your face with hot water and then cold and then do it again, so it goes hot, cold, hot cold. to get the circulation in your face moving.

    10. dip your face in cold water. fill your sink up and put your face in for 10 seconds it closes pores and is really good for you.

    12. smile and be confident

    13. dont eat too much faty foods its not good for your skin or body

    14. exercise often, i do hulahooping as doing 10 minutes of that burns 100 calroies!! exercise realeases endorphins and makes your skin glow and gives you more energy

15.get a spray tan or apply your own, you always feel better tanned

    16. dye your hair when you want a chnage and after you have done it leave coconut oil mixed with olive oil on your hair overnight , to help prevent to much damage.

    17. drink milk and eat dairy its good for your skin and bones.

    18. put olive oil on your face at night instead of mostuiser, its really moisturising! or you can use coconut oil or wheatgerm oil or sweet almond oil.

    19. apply good mositurieser on your body to leave it soft, supple and hydrated.

    20. when you apply hand cream rub it in deeply and give yourself a hand massage at the same time! same with your feet.

    21. put mositurieser or petroleum jelly on your feet before you go bed and then put on socks your feet will feel amazaing! you can do the same with your hands too.

    22. rub potato on your skin or papaya to help get rid of spots and acne marks! ( it works )
It depends on the dry skin you have.

if your skin is lacking oil than use a facial cream that has an oil-based ingredient in it. If your skin is oily but dehydrated then use a cream that has water (aqua). I like Nivea (for dehydrated skin) and Dove (for skin lacking oil).

    Good luck (:
I'm not sure about facial creams but I've heard that Aveeno Moisturizer is really good for very dry skin.

I'm planning to try it soon actually.

Dry skin ? Need a good cream?

Every day when I wake up I see my skin flaking off. This also happens after I take a shower.. is it cause my skin is dry? What kind of cream brand do you reccomend? Fish Oil supplements are really good for dry skin! I have these little bump things on my arms from my dry skin and Fish Oil has helped my skin A LOT in the little time I've used it, the bumps are going away and my skin is softer and it's not as itchy and dry!

You can find it at any drug store, it's relatively inexpensive

dry skin responds well to all natural skin care treatments. so when you choose a moisturizer make sure that it contains only natural ingredients. try to avoid long baths. be gentle on your skin, do not scrub it. pat it dry gently after bath. having healthy habits can help beat unpleasant skin conditions. for more tips to beat dry skin visit http://www.skinsosilky.com
my skin also dry... i'm using Dove soap and using nivea for mosturisting... it really feels good now... try it na....!!!!
I always have used sensitive skin Oil of Olay. I also use Night-A-Mins at nighttime by Origins which doesn't leave my skin feeling oily when I wake up. Avoid putting lotion n your oily spots and to remove the blackheads, use Biore's Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. Also remember that you can take care of your skin from the inside-out. You can improve your complexion by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day and eating foods rich in antioxidants such as red and black beans, strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, apples, russet potatoes, and pecans. Hope that helps!
I would suggest you wash your face with dove soap everywhere on your face, then wash your face, use cliniouqe (may not be how you spell it). It works and will not break out either! Hope this helps!
Aloe Vera cream or lotion is very natural and healing
my skin was like that too. I started using Vichy. I use the cleanser and the moisturizer, and now my skin is fine. I'd recommend it. If you decide to buy it, buy the pack that comes with the cleanser, moisturizer, and a small ';night time'; bottle. It is a lot cheaper then buying everything individually.

Please recommend a good hand cream for really dry and cracked skin?

use eucerin it was recommended to me by my doctor and it really works for me.Please recommend a good hand cream for really dry and cracked skin?
i think that aveno lotion works really well on dry areas on the skinPlease recommend a good hand cream for really dry and cracked skin?
Avon makes a great lotion, I don't remember the name, but it comes in a white bottle with blue writing.
Vaseline overnight. Wrap your hands in plastic or socks. It is the best.
Get yourself some Silk Lotion From www.formeBath.com. its like $5.00 and used regularly will make your skin feel like silk.
best I've found is Vaseline Cream. It comes in a tube for $2.49 at WalMart
I like Neutrogena Swiss Formula for dry, cracked skin. And I know it sounds ridiculous, but my dad uses this stuff called Corn Huskers Lotion. He gets it at CVS. His hands are in BAD shape from his job and he swears by the stuff.
Eucerin -- it applies more easily if you first apply a lighter lotion.
You need something that will act as a barrier while the skin heals. I would suggest Aquaphor at night, which will allow it to sink in.

For all day long, Neutrogena does a hand cream called Swiss Formula that rocks.

Apply both of them to hands that are a little damp, to trap in the moisture.

Both are available at the drug store.
Queen Helene Cocoa butter. You can buy it at Walmart for around $2.00. I use it all over and my skin is silky smooth and soft.

Dry skin and redness due to Quinoderm acne cream?

I tried Quinoderm 5 and it did nothing for my acne. now I'm using normal Quinoderm and after a few days use my acne is clearing up but my skin is very dry and red. How can I get rid of this?Moisturiser? What type of moisturiser?Dry skin and redness due to Quinoderm acne cream?
    Hiya,

Try using the Quinoderm less often, if you're using it every day now, try every other day.

Cleanse your face with aqueous cream then you won't need a moisturiser, it's very gentle and moisturises at the same time. If you want to use one, get a fragrance free one, Ponds do a good one as do Nivea.Dry skin and redness due to Quinoderm acne cream?
Hey, I know its been a year since you posted this but I found this through google and have had the same problem. So for those who too have wondered the same thing ^^ I too suffered from dry skin from quinoderm but as already mentioned I use the rich simple moisturiser (as opposed to the light stuff Report Abuse

I found that using a little Sudocrem (nappy rash cream) at night helped me. It does actually say on the tub that it for acne too.
This cream is supposed to be good, Oralmat Acno Cream from NutriCentre (please see end of link)

please also type in acne for more info on acne. This site has lots of good in fo on alternative remedies, creams that are more natural %26amp; herbal that donot contain harsh ingredients.
Have you ever tried using Arbonne products? They are all natural products. They have a moisturiser that adjust your skin to the proper ph level.
Basically what Quinoderm does is dry out spots. In doing this, it also dries out normal skin. The usual advice is to do what you did - start off with the lower strength for a week or two, this may not make any noticable difference but it's good to get your skin slowly used to the product. Then increase it to the stronger cream, usually use it at night for about a week or 2 and moisturise during the day, then you can increase it to twice daily. There are loads of moisturisers available these days but it might be best to stick to something with no colours/perfumes/scents etc (something like Simple, Emulave/Elave, Eucerin - these are Irish brand names so not sure if they're the same everywhere, sorry). Generally if you ask your pharmacist for that type of moisturiser they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

If your acne doesnt improve on the Quinoderm after a month or two then you might need to try something different.

    Hope this helps!
i can send you a cream which works just perfect for acne, it's aloe Vera whole leaf cream will cure, heal and feed your skin just fine
Quinoderm is quite a harsh acne cream. There's a chance you're allergic to it so maybe you might want to look into changing to something else like Panoxyl.
I used acne treatment which left my skin very dry and sore. To combat this I used Nivea for Men Sensitive Moisturiser in the evening and morning after washing with Nivea for Men Sensitive Face Wash. Quite expensive at 拢7.99 and 拢5.79 respectively, but damn effective. Click the link for the details...

My benzoyl peroxide cream has left me with dry, flaky skin, what do I do?

Part of my face is so red, dry, and super flakey. What can I do to exfoliate it, or get rid of it? I have put some moisturizer on it, but it hasn't helped much.My benzoyl peroxide cream has left me with dry, flaky skin, what do I do?
DO NOT EXFOLIATE. i repeat: DO NOT EXFOLIATE. the reason your skin is dried out is because of the benzoyl peroxide. not because it needs exfoliated. if you exfoliate, you will be scrubbing your skin into misery. did you read the directions on the box lady? it will warn you that peroxide dries you out. it probably also says, if excessive dryness occurs, decrease use. if irritation still persists, cease use of the product and consult your physician. my advice, only put the peroxide on the blemishes or in small areas that really require it. use a SMALL amount. this stuff isn't meant to be slathered on. a TINY bit is all that is necessary. more is NOT better in this case. if the skin remains dry, STOP using the product. if your skin is a real problem, go see a dermatologist. don't be dumb and keep using walmart crap on it. i say this from years of personal experience and visits to a good derm.My benzoyl peroxide cream has left me with dry, flaky skin, what do I do?
The benzoyl dried your face out so much. I have very oily skin and what I ended up doing was using the Clinique 3 step program. The best oil control is that Dramatically Differene Gel. Currently your skin is dried out and need moisture. I would go to the Dermatologist. They can help you get back to healthy skin then help you control the oil. I would not use the Proactiv Solutions Program. It makes your skin dry and its rather expensive.
It is doing its job if your skin is dry. The purpose of benzoyl peroxide is to dry the skin of oils. If it is too dry, use less or try diluting it with water. I actually wet my whole face when I use it. I leave my face wet and then apply it. It works for me! I wouldn't waste your time and money on a dermatologist. Ask a good pharmacist for free! Many people underestimate the knowledge of pharmacists!
    go to a dermotologist

the doc can give you other gels or creams that are less drying to your skin
use a lower strength of benzoyl peroxide like 2.5%... the one in stores are usually 5-10%... use a good Toner before using benzoyl peroxide... try using it only every other day...if that does not work tell your doctor to refer you to a dermatologist... good luck..
A hydro cortisone cream like Cortaid might help reduce the irritation %26amp; flakiness.

You can also try a facial mask of plain yogurt (2-4 tablespoons) for 5-10 minutes to help exfoliate and calm your skin.

Limit the use of the benzoyl peroxide cream and wash with a mild cleanser like Cetaphil or Dove for Sensitive skin until your skin heals.

Continue the use of a oil-free, gel moisturizer to protect against the winter wind.

If your skin does not start to improve in about 2 days, contact a dermatologist.
Your frying your skin with that stuff thats why its dry and flakey. If you need a good skin care regime you should try Arbonne's ';Intelligence'; skin care system. It's WONDERFUL and doesn't dry out your skin...it feeds your skin with plant based nutrients and minerals.

My daughter switched from Proactive to this and her face cleared up and isn't dry anymore.

I have samples if you want one. Just e-mail me ok?
an SPF 15 oil free moisturizer should help. also limit your usage and possibly find an alternative your skin is probabily sensitive to the cream find a dermatoligist to get an alternative.

    thx for the 2 points!
if this is the kind they prescribe to you the best thing to do is to be sure to only use it as prescribed (most oftens it's two times a day) and second.. do not use any other harsh abrasive cleaners. only use mild soap and water to clean your face with. and do not exfoliate..

you really need to read all the directions that came with this product..b/c they really do make good sense.

find a good moisturizing soap w/o dyes and whatnot. i personally suggest an oatmeal soap or even something like dove.

second, find a good moisturizer with vitamin e and made specifically for the face. plaster that on at night and put it on several times during the day.

if you are new to the product it will take some time. my face hurt so bad b/c of the dryness and peeling that i couldn't go out unconvered in the wind..the dryness goes away after a week or so of continuous use.. your skin will generally still be drier than before, but not as intensely.

i went from using it twice a day to just once..and it's doing it's job, w/o all the horrible peeling and drying. again, it says in your instructions to decrease use if it gets too bad.. so give your skin a bit of time to adjust and then rate how often you need to use it.

however, if it persists stop use and go back to the dr that prescribed it to you.
    petroleum jelly
    try this!
you should stop using it or at least minimize your usage to maybe once a week or less. your skin must be sensitive to the benzoyl peroxide, so you definitely don't want to use it every day. also, avoid too much sun exposure after using it and wear a facial moisturizer with SPF of less than 15. don't exfoliate though! your skin is already too sensitive that exfoliating will only further irritate your skin.
Go to a dermatologist, and I'd recommend moisturizing your skin with Vaseline.
this is a subject i know all to well.

i have had bad reactions to benzoly proxide on many occasions. and you know, what works best for me is nothing but a moisturizer.

however if you want to wash with something, follow this process, it works!!!

    1. let your face calm down....don't wash it with anything but water for about 1-2 days or until redness goes away.

    2. once redness has decreased/went away, try using what you were only ALOT less. example: instead of 2 times a day, 1 time, or once every other day.

this should work. sometimes your skin does that until it is use to the product. it depends on the person, but like i said, you may be better off with nothing, i am.
You should use a better moisturizer, something that is more hydrating than the one you have been using. For one that is less expensive Alba Organics makes a good sea kelp moisturizer, mid price Clinque makes a good one and Chanel moisturizers are fabulous but they are more pricey, about forty to fifty dollars each. Use a gentle exfoliator becuase you don't want to irritate the skin further by using a very strong one. Dont use the cream that made your skin do this until it is not dry anymore, after it is better cut down your usage to half as often as you were using it, that will give your skin a chance to get used to the medicine in the cream. If your problem persists I would suggest seeing a dermatoligist.
you should stop using it 1st but if you must use it try using it on alternate day. let your skin rest. try use a hydrating mask twice a wk (use those that is water base type) it will help to reduce the flakiness .i don't think you should exfoliate it yet as your skin is red that mean it is sensitive. and yes continue using moisturiser (liquid or gel type will be good). drink more water too!

    hope it helps%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
I had the same problem, I stopped using it. I was better off without it than using it. mosturizer might take a while, but I did the same thing, worked for me, but it took about two months of faithful applications.
Well u have a couple options:

1.Use cetaphil moisturiser of oil of olay moisturiser.

2.Discontinue the use of benzoyl peroxide and find a different acne medicine that will be more geantle on your skin.

    3. You could use a soap called purpose. I use it on my skin and it works wonderfully.
I would recommend lessening the amount of times you put the benzoyl peroxide on your face. And, if you are swimming in chlorine, just don't put it on after that, and if you are a swimmer, that could be a big factor.

E45 is great, but it does contain lanolin so some people are allergic or sensitive to it. The cheap stuff is just as good as the expensive, so don't spend too much. Is it for your face or all over body lotion? I love Boots number 7.There are all sorts of kinds depending on your skin type . It is reasonably priced and a lot cheaper than most skin creams, but if you're looking for something really cheap, then go for E45 or Nivea.
E45 is simply outstanding, smells gorgeous and works sooooo effectively and fast.
olive oil. doesn't smell fantastic but it's very hydrating.

Is cream blusher best 4 dry skin? and can i use it in winter and in summer?

Yes cream blush is best for dry skin because it have just enough moisture to contact with your skin. You should use a brush to apply and also make sure that you are blending. Blush of any kind should just look like it is natural and a hint of color on the cheeks not like you painted your face. Cream blush doesnt always look shiny but if you have dry skin then a little shine will be good for you because you will look more radiant and have a beautiful glow that looks from within. Very natural! And cream blush is good for all season and yes if you get out and sweat alot and rub your face blush powder or cream will fade or come off. If you get a good quality cream blush it will be harder to move just wipe off or sweat off than powder blush. Hope this help!

Is cream blusher best 4 dry skin? and can i use it in winter and in summer?
Cream blush isn't necessarily better for dry skin. It's just a different texture. If applied correctly, by dabbing a small amount on with fingers or blending with brush- it can actually look more natural than powder. People tend to apply cream blush way too heavy and then it doesn't look good. Powder is more common and probably easier to work with.

In the summer, if your skin gets more oily, the cream may not stay on well.
Hi im my experiance and opinion no,

The reason why I say no is that with cream blushers if you are like me and have to wear foundation as well as bluher all cream blusher does is when you apply if to your cheeks after you have put on your foundation it rubs it all off and then you are left with no foundation where the cream blusher goes, I have a few pimples that I like to cover on my cheeks and everytime I use a cream blusher its a waste of time the foundation wipes it all off as you have to blend it really well into the skin.

I think cream blushers are ok if you dont wear foundation and just want to add a little colour you the cheeks, in this case if you are lucky and have perfect skin without having to wear make up then cream blusher will be fantastic.

I use powder blusher as that sits on top of the skin and doesnt wipe of the foundation underneath.

I can understand you wanting to us a cream blusher if your skin can get dry like mine does in the winter months and using powder blusher goes on and looks flaky and odd, but you are not doing yourself any favours with cream blusher because of what I said before, your skin will be moisturised with the cream blusher but it wont last long and wipe of your foundation underneath.

The best thing for you to do is if you have really dry skin is to treat it with a really good moisturiser with SPF so that when you apply a powder blusher it will just glide on with ease.

I think this is the best moisturiser for putting on before make up I love it and helps in the winter as well as the summer and is suitable for sensitive skin.

    http://avonshop.co.uk/shop/product.asp?s鈥?/a>

I use to have a hard time finding a blusher to match my skin colour, till I used avons blusher its great and goes on sheer last all day and you can build on the colour and it doesnt irritate my skin like most blusher do here is the link, this blusher goes creamy on the skin once applied so it blends well without removeing foundation underneath. I love it. I use cedar rose as I am quite pale.

    http://avonshop.co.uk/shop/product.asp?s鈥?/a>
    No.

Honestly, there is no difference in cream blush or powder blush. The only difference is that cream blush is hard to blend, where as powder blush is super easy to put on and remove.

You can wear cream blush during winter AND summer... but if you're planning on sweating/being in the sunlight, cream blush tends to look shiney.

Powder blush works with both seasons, no acceptions.

    -Makeup artist :)
i think it is because powder would make ur skin even more drier that it actually is so cream would be the best option..

try a mac cream blush thyre amazin'

i personally love the one in Sweet William

hope i helped...x %26amp;%26amp; yes you could wear it in winter and summer.
Yes cream blush is definetly best for dry skin because of the extra moisture it hydrates the skin and ye i would wear it in the summer and winter
yes its gud for dry skin in the winter its gud to add warmth in the summer it compliments the warmth and keeps ur tan looking natural!!!!!!

Good foundation cream for a dry skin .....................I have a dry and brown skin tone ..?

When ever i apply any foundation ,i land up with creases on my face and it looks very artificial and sometimes i am alllergic to these foundations .so most of the times i dont use it but i need some gooooooooood foundation to hide my skin tone and blemishes. Please help me to select a foundation which is goood as well as not very costly .Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!Good foundation cream for a dry skin .....................I have a dry and brown skin tone ..?
    My expertise...

Mary Kay has 7 different types of foundation in all different shades that can meet the needs of any skin type. The trick to having a foundation that blends properly is to have own formulated to your skin, depending on how oily or dry you are. It is also important to always match it with the color of your neck and not your face. Your face gets more color and naturally is darker, so if you wear a foundation that is that color you are going to end up with the line below your chin.

As the girl said above, there is a medium coverage foundation, however it is not best for dry skin. It is designed for oily or combo skin. The perfect and best blending foundation I have found in my life is actually Mary Kay and it is their classic formula of Day Radiance. I use it personally, alond with my mom, 2 aunts, and stepmom.

For more help you can visit the website and even call me with any questions, as my number is on there.Good foundation cream for a dry skin .....................I have a dry and brown skin tone ..?
Body shop do a lovely foundation, for many different skin colours, and types. There is a moisture foundation i use with thier foundation brush (which hides the creases) the foundation helps with dry skin. And also if you use the brush the foundation lasts a whole lot longer because it smooths it over a larger area and more evenly.
Bare Minerals- it is absolutely the best I have tried. I apply a good amount of Arbonne moisturizer and let it dry then apply my bare minerals powder it is a great concealer for blemishes and uneven skin tones. It blends flawlessly and looks completely natural it even gives a bit of a glow that is wonderful. It may seem costly at first although it last for very long time and refills are only 25$ the start up kit although is 75$ it includes 2 things of foundation, blush, and brushes. Also check with arbonne they have great products as well.... They offer a mineral makeup that is a bit cheaper although I haven't tried it yet I love all other products.
If you're looking for liquid, Clinique is pretty good expecially for sensitive skin. But for the poswder version, Bare Minerals is really good. Maybe you need to find a better moisturizer.
Fashion Fair Foundation looks flawless on dry skin. I use bronze glow. It dosent dry the skin out and it has vitamin E and other good stuff in it to help the skin fight acne. It will run u about $20 might be a little costly but it is well worth the price.
I have dry skin too, and I definitely vote for Chanel's foundation, I use this one, and there is the details you can check out:

    http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio鈥?/a>

But they have a new one which is a creamy foundation, if you think the liquid is not quite working, the Chanel creamy one is definitely your choice - my friend tried it and love it so much and she re-buy 3 times!

I have quite dry skin ,especially the arm/ legs, has anyone got any suggestions of a really good cream Please?

Your question requires only a simple solution as it is a fact that DRY SKIN problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an all-natural cream that contains natural oils that gives soothing and glowing results.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include lotions with natural-oil ingredients. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

Shaving - Lotion/cream for super dry skin?

Hello, I am a 17 year old male and I shave about every 2 days.

Because I have very dry skin, when I shave, it irritates my skin, especially around the jawline. This also leads to bumps on my face.

What is a good lotion/aftershave/cream for shaving with dry skin?

Nivea makes a really good aftershave lotion for sensitive/dry skin. It's what my husband uses and he really likes it.Shaving - Lotion/cream for super dry skin?
If your skin is a dry, and you are bothered by it, I suggest you try using Zenmed Sensitive Skin Care System from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com

Zenmed has no side effects and it's non-irritant to the

skin. It's proven to works fast and it povides Maximum

results! It's certainly a good lotion to prevent further

    outbreaks.

Another product that I think is effective is Autopalm. This

dry skin mlm is one of the best seller at skinstore.com now.

(Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It's pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.

    its called: E45

you can purchase it in the chemist or ask your doctor for a prescription.I have very dry skin especially on my hands. Is there a goood cream that i can use.?
    a Soap! use Dove Moisturizer...

If you feel a sticky feeling in this soap, do this:

use the soap then scrub your whole body and enough moisture will be in you skin....
Anything with Shea Butter is good.
PETROLEUM JELLY is the best and most effective cream that you can use to prevent severe drying of your skin.. It is best used at night, when your about to sleep and you may cover it with hand gloves (cloth). YOu may also apply it on your feet and put on socks.

Trust me it's really effective. It was tested and proven. I think you can buy it at medicine/ drug stores. Some of its brand name is Vaseline. Plus, it's affordable.
dove right after the shower but dont get them wet and always wear those yellow gloves when washing the dishes.
use oil instead, something like olive oil. it is good for the skin. my mother use to use that, and now she is heal. with best regard.
I think Zim's Crack cream works really well. And then the cream that comes in the cow jar...well it has cow painting on the outside...its called like utter cream, that works well too.
Try using any cream that does not contain an ounce of mineral oil or petroleum (no baby oil, mineral oil based creams or vaseline) this product is useless and really dries out skin.

My husband suffers and swears by Corn Huskers or the hand cream by Arbonne (all natural) and for all skin types especially sensitive -

You can also apply pure vitamin e - at night (bed)
I was a city girl until I moved up to the country 20 years ago. The harsh winters made my hands especially dry. I was waitressing on the weekends at my friend's restaurant and complained about my hands to a local farmer. His answer? Bag Balm! The name sounded awful. I yessed him to death and he left. He came in the next day with a tin of Bag Balm for me. It was a miracle and I use it till this day. Farmer use it to keep cows udders from becoming chapped. You can buy it online at several stores and even some grocery or drugstores carry it. Give it a try and post your results so I can see if you agree with me!
I had serious problems with my skin last winter. I think it was EXTREMELY DRY. My skin use to break and it was unbearable itchy and it was painful after i scratched it so much. And it looked bad.

Thank God I tried Eucerin, the body cream for dry skin therapy. It was like magic. I was immediately healed.

In second place i would recommend Aveeno.

Do not try vaseline, or oils, or those scented things from B%26amp;B Works, they only make it worse. Because they work only superficially.

    hope it helps.
i advise you to use olive oil. try it. believe me, you ll pray for me:)
    Agree with Joannie E45
In most cases, dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter (nonprescription) cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.

If you have more serious skin diseases, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Sometimes dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.
E45 hand cream is very good

E45 cream is really good. It recommended by doctors and hospitals but it is easily sold in most shops.
My skin dries so bad! Cocoa butter is really good to use becuse it smoothes your dry skin, keeps try skin from coming back, and makes you smell nice with out perfumes in it which irrotate skin. I use Lander Advanced Skin Care, Hydrating Cocoa butter lotion with vitamin E, coco butter, and coconut oil. Oh yea and it's also good for you to!

    ';Vitamin E-powerful antioxidant that helps protect against free produced by free radicals produced by sun exposer and polution.';

    ';Cococut oil- helps to smooth and soften skin';

    ';Cocoa butter- a rich emmillient at hydrating';

make sure you don't by any lotions with perfumes in it because that verry bad for dry skin. Also look for lotions that say ';for sensitive skin';.
i've got some cream fer ya.....

    oh wait. yer a dude.

    never mind.
go to the nearest beach and get some seawater - use it wash hands with - trust me
Bach Flower Rescue Remedy Cream is the only lotion that cured my dermatitis. I used everything EVERYTHING and even from the doctors but this Rescue Remedy cream does not sting at all and my hands now beautiful again.
dream cream out of lush, i cant recommend it highly enough, my 2 girls have eczema and it has made a massive difference to them, i also have dry skin and it is the only cream to have made any sort of difference. it is absolutely natural has chamomile in it and i you should really try some!
Anything with Lanolin in it works good. Try using a pumice stone to remove the dead skin.
uh, not sure what coughing has to do with this question but okay... moving on...

Depending on the culprit of your dry skin, there are a number of OTC remedies and creams (and many more prescription creams) available to you.

Itchy skin can come from allergies, irritation, rashes, bug bites, diabetes, eczema and psoriasis (see below), using certain soaps and detergents, or from lack of hydration.

Try drinking plenty of water, using mild soaps and detergents, staying away from poision ivy/oak/sumac infested areas, and researching eczema and psoriasis. These are two fairly common chronic skin conditions that are usually characterized by raised, red and white patches of itchy, flaking skin that plague a specific area of your body and don't go away completely. A doctor can diagnose such a condition, and will usually prescribe a topical steroid cream (no, not like crazy-muscle-builder steroids...) such as Elidel to soothe the area.
if sensitive skin stop all creams, all have chemicals, try something natural like butter, cream or best is pure almond oil also rogan badam shirin(if u an indian ull know wat im sayin) with this ull get results better than u expect.
eucerin...i think that is how to spell it....i believe that is some pretty good stuff..and have you tried the shae butter stuff from bath and body works...the ones in the blue tubes...they work well too...also.....burt bee's brand makes some really good creams....i use all of them...but for my hands i use vaseline intinsive care hand and nail!! oh and somthing else...i keep baby oil in the shower and before i get out i just squirt it on..when you dry off you wipe off the excess and your skin is nice and oooh la la....
Well i had the exact same problem as you, wen to the doctor who prescribed me about a million different creams because my hand were RED and burning they were soooo bad and dry and I also have sensitive skin. I than asked a different doctor who told me to use the simplest moisturizer out there. This is what we found: Vaseline Derma Care, dermatological lotion and is hypergenic and fragrance free. It's AMAZING. It comes in a handy white travel size sqeezy tube thing to so you can carry it around with you. Plus you can use it anywhere on your body is you ever get a random dry patch.
Calen Hill Botanicals (calenhill.com) makes some great lotions and moisturizers. I make natural skin care products with no chemicals or synthetics to treat problematic and dry skin like eczema and I usually recomment the Skin Therapy Lotion for the day and Blended Shea Butter at night. Also, use a moisturizing hand soap like Calen Hill's Foaming Cleansers. They are sulfate free and are made with natural ingredients and botanicals. Very good stuff! Don't use anything with petroleum (like Vaseline or Eucerin) because it smothers your skin so it can't breathe.

Best Cream For Very Dry Skin?

Hi Everyone - Post menopause I have very very dry skin. I have tried lots of products but just wondering if anyone can recommend a really effective one that will not break the bank Many thanksBest Cream For Very Dry Skin?
Your skin's gone fragile %26amp; sensitive, hence you need to be extra gentle with it. Some tips:

    1) Do NOT use warm/hot water to wash face, which will dry out skin more. Use cool water instead

    2) If still using toner, use only Alcohol-free ones. Preferably also Fragrance-free so as not to further irritate your dry skin

    3) Washing twice a day is enough. Not more, else skin get even more dehydrated and sensitive

    4) Choose moisturizer with moisturising ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, PCA, Allantoin, Vitamin E (Tocopherol), Soybean oil...

    5) Try also drinking powdered Collagen to support your skin's depleting collagen network. Capsules are not as effective although readily available.

Hope above helps... good luck :))Best Cream For Very Dry Skin?
Oilyness is the natural way your skin keeps hydrated, and also by supplying nutrients and water to it via the bloodstream. Perhaps you aren't drinking enough water, or eating the right kinds of food. Or it could just be your skin is naturally like this. I'd use pure jojoba oil on dry areas especially if it can be sensitive. This oil is the closest to sebum (your natural oil). All commercial brands, even Simple products contain additives derived from petro-chemicals which could have been the cause of the change in your skin's behaviour. If you keep it natural and simple then you should have no worries. If you are prone to spots then add a few drops of tea tree oil with the jojoba. It lasts ages and you only need a little bit. :)

Cucumber-lanolin mask gives a good effect on the dry and sluggish skin. Cucumber can be cooked cucumber-lanolin mask. To do so, fresh green onion rub on the shallow Turk and mixed with an equal number of lanolin. Grated cucumber added to lanolin gradually, slowly grind it. To uphold the mixture is left at 1 - 1.5 hours. After that on the surface of the liquid mixture advocated that drained. Settle weighing heavily grease person and left at 10 - 20 min., Then remove the hot, damp cloth. Finally, a person wipe fluid atomically to settle cucumber mass, or wetted it ends towels, napkins or wool clap person.

    Emu Oil

Lotions with mineral oil can dry out the skin, use one with out it! Emu Oil ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emu_oil ) contains vitamin A and E, Sapogens ( makes skin softer), and Oleic acid (a skin cell regenerator, anti-wrinkel agent) - walgreens sells emu oil.. i would think walmart would as well.

Also, make sure to drink plenty of water and that you are eating enough fat/omega-3 oils.
the simple 'ayurveda' method is the best and is followed by asians, particularly in india and pakistan.

once a week apply good quality coconut oil all over your body not miserly, and relax do your chores for two or more hours. take a bath with your soap, try to rub off the excess oil which was not absorbed by body. do this every week and wow the result is wonderful. no artificial creams, not deadly mixtures.
I get one in the States called Body Butter which contains cocoa butter and, the magic ingredient, shea butter. It's fantastic. You should be able to find a UK equivalent but don't know about costs here.
there are really good products like INNOXA skin care range you can find that in price line and david-jones, and also the body shop has got body butter products for very very dry skin.

E45 is very good and good old Cocoa Butter (拢1.00 in the poundshop!)

Yes it is good for dry skin. If you want a really good cream then try Sainsbury Replenishing Dry Skin Lotion it costs 99p. I have always had a dry skin and tried various lotions and potions overe the years, now due to my age its drier still. In desperation I tried the Sainsbury lotion and its fantastic, after a few applications I could see the difference.

Cucumber is a natural skin moisturizer and lightener, which is why cucumber slices work to reduce dark under eye circles. But you should check the concentrations of the moisturizer to make sure it has at least 1% cucumber extract.

I'm sick and tired of people talking about making their skin lighter. It doesn't make any sense at all! Why would anyone want to do that. Your parents made you who you are! Be proud of that! Why do you think you have to conform to the media and society demands. The chemicals in these bleaching creams rip layers of your skin off causing it to look raw red! Do you really want to look like a Sore? No i don't think so! Sorry to be blunt...but i like to tell it how it is!What type of body lightening cream do i use on dry skin.I have brown skin.?

If you have sensitive skin, what I would say to use is, PanOxyl 5% bar soap. Use this twice a day in the AM and before bed. After each wash, get some Vitamin E cream and apply a good bit. You do need to let your skin heal from the previous application you did first, or it will be even more dry and irritated. Until it heals, use the Vitamin E cream alone for a week or so and then begin the wash. Be careful if you use anything else with it, because when you use multiple acne meds, it causes the same reaction that you have now. Also, when you use this, use a sunscreen, because it increases your sensitivity to the sun.

    Good luck.

Does anti-septic cream dry out skin?

My skin has been very dry recently, and my cheeks are particularly red and sore. I used to use Nivea as moisturiser, but my mum threw that away so I've been using a different one. It seemed to irritate my skin, and I thought that soothing 'savlon' (anti septic cream) would help my sore patches. But someone told me it dries skin out even more- is this true? I've switched to aloe vera now as recommended my a beautician friend, is this the best option?Does anti-septic cream dry out skin?

  • Dry skin from pimple cream.?

I recently started using this pimple cream called oxy 10, it works well and has cleared most of my pimples, but the label says that if my skin dries excessively, i should stop using it and switch to oxy 5.

How do i know whether my skin has dried excessively? Because my the areas of my face where i applied the cream does feel kind of scaly..

Oxy 10 contains 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, Oxy 5 probably contains 5%.

Thanks in advance!Dry skin from pimple cream.?
You will be able to tell if your skin is overly dry. You can switch to a kind of Oxy pad with moisturizers, or use your current kind less. Also, take a look at the kind of soap you use to see if that is contributing to any dryness.Dry skin from pimple cream.?
    K i'll try. Thanks! =) Report Abuse

If your skin dries up and starts peeling like a sunburn, that's excessive dry skin. Benzoyl peroxide is usually pretty mild, even 10%. It usually will cause some drying of the skin, but nothing major unless you've got ultra sensitive skin.
if your skink looks scaly, feels scaly, starts to peel ect. you should switch, you also could just not use it for a day or two and then continue use..............
You should do a mini patch test to determine your skin type. If you skin is already of the dry type, using benzoyl may makes your skin even more dry.

It would of helped if you had told us what acne cream you used. The dry skin tells me that the cream you used must have had benzyl peroxide - which is common in many acne medications. As for the irritated skin, your skin must have had an allergic reaction to the medication, so throwing it away is a good idea.

There are so many acne treatments out there and picking out the right one without knowing what type of skin you have and how serious your acne is, is very difficult. You should really try going to a dermatologist for some help if your acne is serious. If your acne isn't mild to severe, then try taking good care of your skin (cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize, sunscreen, drink lots of water, never touch face with dirty hands) and purchase Clean %26amp; Clear acne treatments.Excessive dry skin from acne cream....?
It seems like you've been affected badly due to the cream.

Don't worry! I have some natural remedies that would cure this sort of thing. This cures very fast and doesn't have any side effects.

    1. Add few drops of lemon juice with coconut oil or sesame oil and massage your face.

    2. Mix honey with curd and apply in face and neck daily. The face becomes shiny and smooth.

    3. Or you can also try this. Take a full ripened banana and mix few drops of honey with this. Apply in face for 15 minutes and wash with cold water.

If you do any of these regularly (once or twice a day). Your face brightens up and becomes shiny. It doesn't block your pores.
Thats happened to me before, and I'm sure a million other girls also.

And the best thing I've found for your skin, even though millions of facial cleansers claim to give you blemish free skin, is just regular old Dove soap. No doubt it wont dry up your skin or make it red.

And P.S. if you have really bad acne, which I used to have, you know no matter what cream **** you try nothing makes it go away completely. But one thing that does actually work is a pill that you swallow twice a day on an empty stomach and after a few weeks you skin will be crystal clear.

Its called Minocycline and you have to get a perscription from your doctor but almost any doctor will give it to you if you ask and explain your need for it. Just ask about next time you go. You wont regret it
I had similar problems and i went to a dermatologist (skin doctor) and he prescribed me some pills and cream that really cleared it up quick. If you don't have money or time to see a doctor than go to your local wall-mart or drugstore and they will have alot of different products to choose from.
if your acne cream does that to your face, it's obviously not working! throw that crap away!

I've been through enough acne meds to know, it really is best to just go to a dermatologist. They will know exactly what to do, and what to give you that is perfect for your skin, that WON'T dry it out.

    : )
I think you should stop using that product!!!

This is what i used and they work really good for me!!

If it is really dry you have to use a combination of moisturising shower/bath products, intensive moisturisers (E45, Nivea, Johnson's baby range), olive oil or baby oil rubbed in regularly helps if severe. Use any moisturiser morning and night. A dermatologist friend used to tell me to rub cream into my skin when it was still slightly damp and really rub it into your skin - don't apply loads and let it sit on top of your skin - you need to work it in circular motions. The doctor will tell you to try E45cream first, if that doen't work go to your doctor for something stronger.
E45 cream will do the trick its only around 拢3.50 to buy and its extremely moisturising for dry skin. If you have skin like my son where it is cracked and bleeds from time to time (eczema) try using sudocreme as this is a healing antiseptic cream, you can buy this in chemists and supermarkets. If all else fails, try moisturising bath products like Dove body wash or use baby oil in the bath. Or take a trip to your doctor as they can always prescribe something to help, dont be embarrased dry skin is very common and they are probably used to people going in about it.

Hi, Aqueous Cream, don't if you've tried it, it seems to help some but not all. I've certainly had some quite good results with it and in the same plus other places. Good luck.
Cetaphil. It's cheap and doesn't smell like anything but it is thick and really good. For dry skin, try their hand cream and use it all over. Basically, if you want a good lotion, it should be about the same thickness as ketchup. Also, put the lotion on right after taking a shower because lotion is pointless on dry skin. Put lotion on anytime you get wet, like bath or swimming or whatever because water will dry you out when it evaporates, which is why they say not to lick chapped lips.
you need a deep moisturising cream like Vaseline or palm cocoa moisturising cream, and don't over rub your skin or don't use harsh soap that can lead to dryness, you need moisturising bath creme or anything for moisturising and drink loads of water to help hydrate your skin.

I think it is hereditary. My cousin has itchy skin and it becomes very dry, what kind of cream or lotion can help it?
She could try a body oil. Neutrogena makes one that smells really nice, but getting good-quality olive oil works just as well. Use the oil in place of lotion and it can do wonders for dry skin. Also, trying to avoid hot showers helps. The heat of the water can actually draw a lot of moisture out of the skin, so using water that's room-temperature or only slightly warm is better. She also could try drinking more water. I have problems with the skin at the base of my fingernails getting dry to the point of cracking and bleeding, but I notice improvement if I drink lots of water.

My skin is very dry can I put on face cream and then vitamin E oil of top of that?

I use Aveeno positively radiant night cream and I have vitamin E oil that makes my skin look really pretty. Will the vitamin E oil get absorbed if I put the face cream on first? But the Aveeno cream really does make my face look radiant too, I want to use them together in layers! Or should I put the face cream on first for a few hours to absorb THEN put on the vitamin E oil later? My skin is very dry can I put on face cream and then vitamin E oil of top of that?
You should put the Aveeno night cream on first and then let it dry completely before you put on the Vitamin E oil.My skin is very dry can I put on face cream and then vitamin E oil of top of that?
The very best thing I have found for dry skin is Lachydrin 12%. You will need a persription for it in the US but it works wonders for my dry skin!

What to do if i have dry skin after applying creams?

i have pimple prone skin and is currently using the ( Panoxy1 Acnegel 5 ). i have been experiencing dry skin since i applied the cream. i have read some of the post tat mentioned by moisture my face. however it doesnt work for me. The problem still persist like some kind of dead skin covering the places where i applied the cream. Anyone can help me out on what to do ? cause i heard having dry skin will worsen the situation. ( sry for my bad command of english.)What to do if i have dry skin after applying creams?
I think its one of the effects of using panoxyl, it dries out the pimple. I agree with the previous posts, you should do some exfoliation. You could also try ponds cold cream before washing your face with a facial wash/cleanser, or scrub for exfoliating..it deep cleans and moisturizes your face, leaving a supple feel after washing the face. Then, apply your panoxyl as usual. Hope it works for you, coz it worked for me!What to do if i have dry skin after applying creams?
    some problem here!

and this is what i do..

scrub your face with a facial scrub..\

then wash it with a moisturising wash..

    after that tone it.

    and moisturize it..

then if you like, spray some scented face mist..

    good luck..
u should buy a wash that your skin isnt going to be sensitive to if you have dry skin problem. buy a wash thats for dry skin only.
first stop using panoxy... than use scrub and make sure you use moisturizer, i still would see dermatologist to make sure you don't have psoriasis it is skin disorder.
maybe the product doesn't suit you.try consulting a dermatologist first before trying other products.
Try somthing that exfoliates, like Clean %26amp; Clear Morning Burst facial scrub. Then use moisturiser. If your problems are severe, maybe you are allergic to the cream you're using. Also since your skin is prone to pimples you should avoid using foundations, and if you do, use an oil free foundation such as Maybelline New York Pure Makeup Foundation and wash it off well afterwards.
stop the product which u are using right now. use glycolic skin tonner.

Can someone recommend some skincare ointment or cream for dry skin and itchiness please?

    Hi guys,

I have a few issues with my skin that I'd like to take care of.

Since it's not so serious (no risk to health), and because I'm shy, I'd rather not see a doctor or dermatologist if I don't have to.

There are some visible blemishes on my face - on the sides of my nose, and above my eyebrows. The skin is often dry and has flakes there. Even when moistened, the skin will appear red a lot of the time. I'm not really sure what this is, but if someone thinks they know or if they know where I might find out about it, advice would be appreciated.

Underneath my eyebrows as well there is what seems a little bit like dandruff or something. Dead white skin flakes. Gross, I know. :S

I can sometimes peel a very small patch of skin away, but then the skin beneath will turn red and the dead skin will soon form again on top of that.

OK, apart from this, there is another thing I wanted to mention: I also have itchiness/rash issues between my legs - where my legs meet my pelvis i guess. As far up the leg as you can get on the inside of it.

So, outside my briefs on the inside part of my leg. Haha.

I think it's a different sort of skin condition since there isn't any dead skin here. Or maybe it's similar but there isn't dead skin because my leg skin is different from my facial skin.

I often find at night it is very itchy and I'll scratch there almost unintentionally while I'm half asleep. I wish it would go away though.

Anyway, I know you guys are probably disgusted by all this, but this isn't some sort of popularity contest... and hopefully someone out there can help me a little.

I sometimes use an aloe cream that I have in both areas (before bed and after showering), but it doesn't seem to work very well.

Again, thanks for any help you can provide. Can someone recommend some skincare ointment or cream for dry skin and itchiness please?
