Really dry skin onmy hands, please recommend a good hand cream!?

Vaseline Hand and Nail Lotion

Cheap, smells yummy and good. I personally find it very good and non-oily.

Oh and Vaseline's site says: Its conditioning moisturizers are fast absorbing and non-greasy. It nourishes with moisture to help leave palms, fingertips and knuckles soft, cuticles smooth and nails strong.Really dry skin onmy hands, please recommend a good hand cream!?
here is a great remedy for dry skin

Add a few drops of lemon juice to 1/2 an avocado, and mash. Apply to clean skin and allow to remain for 20 minutes. Then remove with some tissue, and splash the skin with cold, then warm, water.

also jergens lotion works very well and it is cheapReally dry skin onmy hands, please recommend a good hand cream!?
you can use a Slatkin hand cream. it comes in those black , big tubes.

you can also use Vaseline petroleum jelly with that. its sure to hydrate your skin. you can also rub some Indian ghee on your hands and any spot which needs hydration.
I use Lotil moisturising cream, I get it from chemists (not on prescription). Some places don't have it though, otherwise yeah vaseline intensive care cream is good. I get really dry skin on my hands as well so I know how frustrating it is!
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula, I Always use it and on my face and body, it's a great all over moisturiser and it's really thick and doesn't leave greasy residue. It isn't overpriced either.
victorias secret

its in a pink bottle as says hand cream its the most amazing stuff ever its thick and actualy stays on a slight smell but nothing over powering.
Slap on some palmers cocoa butter and than some vaseline or petroleum jelly. It'll make the cocoa butter sink in deeper. Make sure after a while to wipe the vaseline off though
Soak your hands in olive oil, and then rub sugar all over your hands. Stay like that for around 10 mins. Then woash it off with water(not soap!) Next day you will have the smoothest softest hands ever!
I use vaseline intensive care, works really well for me.

Anyone know a good cream to heal and repair dry cracked skin caused by Dishydrosis Eczema?

Because you have eczema, your skin may be very sensitive to most creams. Try Eucerin cream or Cetaphil cream. Both are commonly recommended by dermatologists for eczema patients. (If you live near an Albertson's grocery store, their Albertson's Dry Skin Cream is half the price and the same as Eucerine. Walgreen's generic is too dry, in my opinion.)Anyone know a good cream to heal and repair dry cracked skin caused by Dishydrosis Eczema?
Superglue is great for fixing the cuts/fissure from this, too. Report Abuse
Anyone know a good cream to heal and repair dry cracked skin caused by Dishydrosis Eczema?

i see to fit closer of cure for you ..get mupirisin cream or steroid combined cream..go to thermal springs when is therapy get late
A prescription called Triamcinolone Acetonide is a very successful cream. Also, as per my husband's dermatologist, he is to use the aforementioned cream but at night he is to use common petroleum jelly on his hands and then put cotton gloves over it. We live in the desert and my feet were cracking. I used the petroleum jelly remedy and now, no more cracks.
Have a look here.

Best cream for dried skin on face?

Something I can buy from the store, not something I have to order over the internet or have to hunt down and some health store.

I have some facial hair removed every few weeks, and often times when it starts to grow back in it hurts badly especially since my skin is so dried out in the first place.

What kind of creams do you recommend for dry and sensitive skin?

Thanks :)Best cream for dried skin on face?
E45 cream or Aqueous cream is very good for dry facial skin and aslo silcox base is goodBest cream for dried skin on face?
I use Oil of Olay Complete. It comes in a plastic bottle, packaged inside a box. They make it for Normal, Sensitive, %26amp; Dry skin. I buy it at Wal*Mart. It goes on smoothly %26amp; doesn't make the skin feel greasy.
My DR said for me to use ';Cetaphil '; it is for dry sensitive skin. There is one for dry or oily skin and a special one for face. You can get it at Wal-Mart in the cosemetic section. You might want to talk to the dr that does the hair removal.
use toner , it works better - get a gentle one though, when you're done with that then use a heavy moisturizer... - intensive care lotion....
baby lotion or ursine they sell then at wal mart.
Dry skin problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an over-the-counter cream that contains lactic acid or lactic acid and urea.

In a more serious skin diseases, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include hydrocortisone-containing lotions. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

I believe http://www.skinsosilky.com/ will help you best for more advices, ideas and best treatments for any skin problem like dry skin.
Try Cetaphil facial soap. It's wonderful and you can get it pretty much anywhere.
I use honey......the best kept secret in the middle east.
Try Cetaphil daily moisturizer. It is what dermatologists always recommend for sensitive skin. It is also very rich and soothing. Try putting on at night, as it is a bit too oily for day under makeup. You can also try CeraVe moisturizing lotion, it is just as good as Cetaphil but not quite as greasy. Both can be bought at most drugstores, like CVS.
Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin.Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/

  • Which cream shall i buy for for dry skin?

There are loads of good ones on the market, and I've tried many, with various results.

For sheer value and quality though, you can't beat Nivea Soft - intensive moisturising cream.Which cream shall i buy for for dry skin?
EucerinWhich cream shall i buy for for dry skin?
i started using e45, or aquias(dunno how its spelled but it sounds right) and it seems to have worked wonders, also i use vaseline intensive care for dry skin
    E45 all of the time.
E45 or emulsifying ointment. Try asking at your local chemists. If your skin is really bad you should perhaps see your Dr. Good luck.
Ask your pharmacist for advice , they are normally pretty good at that sort of thing .

If you are looking to use one of the more expensive solutions then go to a large department store and pick a couple of brands , then ask the sales person for advice and to test it on your skin .
there are lots of creams ointments go into your nearest Lidel/Aldi store they sell creams that are really good for dry skins and they are very reasonably priced I use the one with jojoba and vitamin,b,c,d,and e,in a pale blue tub because its so low in price you can be very liberal and your skin is as soft as a baby
The absolute best thing you can put on dry skin is tea tree oil. It works immediately %26amp; is extremely good for your skin. Tea tree oil can be found at health food stores, Trader Joe's, Henry's, Whole Foods, etc. You will thank me later for this recommendation.

Almond Oil from the health shop. Goes a long way and is also brilliant as a night moisturiser on your face. Use it on elbows and knees too after exfoliating - you will see the difference instantly - rub in well and you wont find it too oily either.
the cheapest and by far the best that we recommend in our profession is AQUEOUS about 1.99gbp for a tub of 500g. Use it anywhere on the body and after about 2 months of daily liberal use you will see a great difference.
Bio-oil is brill for dry skin if its really dry, its like a thick oily texture but if you put it on at night it soaks in and is nice in the morning - or vaseline intensive care (aloe vera) and also Nivea for dry skin, mega cheap but i use it on my face too and its really good - its in a white bottle with blue writting on.
    The fianc`e uses

    Vaseline intensive care

she Say's it works absolutely brilliantly better than prescribed creams
    Body shop hemp.

    v.v.v good.

    expensive, but worth it
aloe vera is great for the skin, buy it from any good health shop,

you could also use baby oil after a shower rub it onto wet skin and let it dry natural,

use a good moisturising shower gel like dove,

    use Vaseline intensive care,

don't use too much soap as it dries the skin out,

    cathybaby x
eucerin is very good but rather plain and medical, if u want something that smells nicer, try dove body silk in the pot thats very good and smells nice too.

let me know what you think and if you are interested in learning more about this company.

One of the major causes of acne is overproduction of oil (sebum). All acne products try to dry up the excess oil to some extent. One way to keep your skin from being too dry is to spot treat blemishes and leave the rest of your face alone. Another way is to do what you've been doing. A third way is to stop using acnewash and other acne product and keep your face extremely clean using anti-bacterial soap, exfoliate twice a day, and use an alpha/beta hydroxy cream at night.
Most of the acne medications make skin dry. They are supposed to reduce sebum. That is why the skin becomes dry. Usea cream base with moisturizer.

If your skin is a dry, and you are bothered by it, I suggest you try using Zenmed Sensitive Skin Care System from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com.

Zenmend has no side effects and it's non-irritant to the

skin. It's proven to works fast and it povides Maximum

results! It's certainly a good lotion to prevent further

    outbreaks.

Another product that I think is effective is Autopalm. This

(Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It's pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.

I use Benzol peroxide...works well but it does make my skin dry..I don't think there is any ones that don't. The problem is you can't use a regular moisturizer, and oil-free ones just don't cut it. The only oil-free moisturizer...that is a life saver by the way...is Lancome Aqua Fusion..it smells heavenly, is oil-free and will totally get rid of dryness and make your skin feel smooth and soft. It's expensive, but it lasts for a LONG time.
Soak cotton wool in mint juice, and apply every day. Mix cinnamon powder with lime juice to make a fine paste, Apply on pimples. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

Does a Gel face fash with benzoyl peroxide dry out ur skin more or a cream face wash with benzyol peroxide dry out ur skin more?Does a gel face wash dry out your skin more or cream face wash??
i would so say a gel face wash because it does not give u back the right chemicals in u face and the right vitamins and it just helps ur face look better but not feel better.

Acne cream makes my skin really dry?

any solutions ?Acne cream makes my skin really dry?
Yes.....Acne cream makes my skin really dry?
If the cream is working, then you might want to tolerate the dryness until the acne is gone.

If you're looking for a good product, try Dadashie - www.dadashie.com If you happen to live in Southern California... the reason being that it's not only a product, but a treatment, which is only available in California.

Other than that, you might want to try Retin-A in place of whatever cream you're using now. You can also use a moisturizer that is oil free and contains hyaluronic acid - a company called Hylunia makes a nice hyaluronic acid serum. It's an ingredient that absorbs water, making your skin hydrated, but not with the use of oil.

    Good luck!
If the cream is working on your acne (and you don't want to try something else), try Neutrogena oil free moisturizer. Apply it after your acne cream - it won't make it less effective. If your skin is REALLY dry (or you're already using an oil free moisturizer to no avail), get some Australian emu oil to apply at night. I know that adding oil to your acne sounds crazy, but I use it (with other natural oils) to treat my acne %26amp; it's the only thing I've found that works without drying out my skin. all you need is a few drops at night. Put it on after you wash your face %26amp; BEFORE you put on the acne cream. It will absorb very quickly %26amp; leave your skin baby soft. If your face feels greasy after 5 minutes - then you put too much on. You can also use it in the day when it's very cold %26amp; you shouldn't use it when it's hot or humid. A 2oz bottle will last you for months %26amp; it will get rid of your dry skin within a few days of using it :)

    BTW:

Oil doesn't cause acne! You can have dry skin %26amp; still have acne. Bacteria causes acne - that's why all acne treatments have bacteria killing ingredients. Oil can clog your pores %26amp; cut off oxygen, giving bacteria the chance to multiply %26amp; cause a pimple - but if there's no bacteria present you will just get clogged pores. Emu oil won't clog your pores %26amp; is a natural antibacterial/anti-fungal.
Most acne creams (I'm assuming the one you're using is medicated) dry the skin. It's to get rid of oil -%26gt; oil usually makes spots worse/gives you spots because you've got greasy skin. By getting rid of the oil, you should find you don't get as many spots. This happened to me and the doctor gave me a smaller strength of cream. I also got anti-biotics and I barely EVER get spots now. Speak to your doctor about it if it's bothering you ;)

    x
ask your doctor for an oil-based alternative. this will stop your skin from becoming dry.

or, i suggest only applying the cream to the bad areas. i.e don't cover your whole face in it, only the problem zones.

try to moisturise aswell - that way you won't need to switch creams, and your skin will become amazing and smooth.

Try moisturising reguarly , but if you have Acne you may be better off going to your doctor and asking about the Pill .Dianete is one make which is ment to clear up acne i have used that before and the results were amazing .
Acne Cream has an ingredient called benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl Peroxide drys up your acne, which makes your skin really dry. In the meantime, put on some moisturizer around the pimple, not directly on the pimple because the cream will rub off.
Go to the drug store and ask for a really really good face moisturizer. Not just body lotion. The skin on your face and neck Is different from the fest of your body. Also, exfoliate to get all the dead skin of.
Stop using the acne cream you are using right now and try visiting a dermatologist for a proper cream to use...they probably know what's best for your skin than any other suggestions out there.
Thats the idea, it dries the pores, because acne is caused by blocked pores....

That's a common problem with many types of acne creams. However, there are other types that are specially made with this problem in mind. See my source for more info.
i wouldnt use creams for acne because it sucks the moisture out of your skin. use a acne face wash and after your use if put moisturizer or lotion of your face.
yep most of them will do that use a moisturizing cream after you use the acne cream it should help =)

(sometimes if your face drys out 2 much you get more acne breakouts)

    Then you don't have acne.

Urgh, people think if they get a couple of pimples once a week they have acne.
    moisturizing cream ?

acne cream is nothing but chemicals, what do you expect.
Use Witch Hazel instead. Creams just clog up your pores.
our acne cream doesnt suit your skin type duhhh.
    Yes stop using it.

I have dry skin so i want some good body lotion and also need good face cream to hide fine lines ?

The only lotion I've found that actually helps my dry skin is St. Ives. I prefer the vanilla scented one, but even the Skin Firming one works for me. Most other lotions don't do anything to help my dry skin, even when used daily.

I don't know of a good face cream to hide fine lines though, sorry.I have dry skin so i want some good body lotion and also need good face cream to hide fine lines ?
Best Body lotion ever. It looks expensive, but it will last you months.

http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/fac鈥?/a> This is a facial moisturizer, I got it for my mom and she is in love with it.I have dry skin so i want some good body lotion and also need good face cream to hide fine lines ?
A lotion that will help dry skin needs to be thick something like abody butter that offers a lot of moisture, And if that doesn't work you can add a little oil to your lotion. I use olive oil its pure and natural or you could use vitamine E.

Try a night cream for you face they offer more moisture than the daytime creams and most of them firm and smooth lines..I use my nite cream for both day and night. Also drink plenty of water skin is the biggest organ and usually goes without the most.
Ponds body lotion is good. U can mix equal qty of olive oil and honey and massage on face and body. Keep overnight and in the morning wash with lukewarm water. This will hydrate the skin. For face I think NIvea Blue creme is best. Nivea body lotion is also great. U can also mix vitamin E capsule with moisturiser and massage on face. Keep for half an hr and then put a wet towel on face for 1 min. Rub lightly
Oil based moisturizers are good for dry skin. Pond's moisturizer and cold cream should work very well.

Also drink a spoon ful of almond oil regularly with milk, it will make your skin soft and supple from within.

Apply baby oil after bath. It does not stain and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

    All the best!!
There are many brands and creams in the market, but most of the contain harsh chemicals so be careful, what you need to do is to only buy body lotions and anti aging face creams with natural ingredients that have powerful anti aging properties like:

    http://www.xtendlife.org
I found that Crabtree%26amp;Eveyln has a lotion called ';gardeners hand thearpy cream'; and it moisturizes, works for a long time, and has a wonderful scent of lavender.

i recommend this if you really have dry hands. you can also use it on legs and feet.
Shahnaz hussens hurbal products are good, but Amroli and mud treatment is also good, for face use conch cream,

    http://www.skincaretipps.blogspot.com
Use gentle moisturizer that is oil free. I use cetaphil brand and sometimes i use aveeno because i have sensitive skin.
Try something Organic and Chemical Free that is gentle on your skin. Visit www.glam-nation.com. I am sure this will help.
For dry skin the best way is to apply either coconut oil or Til(Gingelly) oil before bath and then take bath with mild soap.
get a face firmer from khiel's and a good lotion from bath and body works, they have the best stuff and with christmas coming, they have the best stuff out now
Body shop has nice good quality mosturiser (:
    Arbonne
body soap which is of good qality...

What are some good face creams that can help with dry skin?

I live in place where its hot most of the time and the temperature changes lots and I was wondering what are some good creams or soaps, I can use in the shower or out of the shower on my face to help with dry skin? What are some good face creams that can help with dry skin?
For dry skin Moor Spa products are very good the two i have used (rejuvenating moisturiser and nourishing moisturiser) you don’t need much of them and they seem to go a very long way.

And for in the shower i have been told the energizing shower gel is very good it lasts for about 3 months (the 200ml bottle) generally you can buy Moor Spa products on their website

    http://www.moorbodycare.co.uk

And there’s information and competitions to win free things on their other website http://www.moorspa.co.uk

If your hands and feet are very itchy, it could be a sign of gestational cholestasis which can affect your liver - ask gp for a check of your blood count to make sure everything is ok. otherwise aqueous cream is really good for dry skin as it can be used as a cleanser as well as a moisturiser.

Good luck with your pregancy xPregnancy with itchy anr dry skin can they prescribe a cream to be used? i'm seeing my dr tommorrow.?
How itchy and is it widespread? severe itching can be a liver complaint, which although rare is serious and should be investigated . Good luck
Cocoa Butter or Shea Butter. They also prevent and eliminate Stretch Marks.
if you ask they probably give you some e45 cream but coco butter is really Good for your skin if you ave any of that not so sure if they give that out on prescription though but if not they do give out e45 but id recommend you buy some coco butter best from body shop its 拢10 but you get quite a big tub for that price or they do a smaller one for 拢5
Why don't you pop to your pharmacy for advice ? You shouldn't need a prescription for dry skin although as you're pregnant prescriptions are free. Something like E45 cream should relieve the symptoms.

    Lancome Absolut
yes. i use it daily. it is a loriel paris brand, and its great. srry but i cant remmeber the name, but u could look for that brand i guess. it is like yellowish color and is liquid.
    My fav is Neo Strata.
i like oil of olay or pond's mend and defend both have good moisterizers that arent oily and have a little sunblock in it to protet your skin.
I use all sorts of face creams because I like a variety but I really like the Shiseido moisturizers. They're lightweight and they do not leave your skin feeling oily. It also has a light fragrance which smells great! If you use the moisturizer along with the gentle cleansing lotion/toner and the gentle cleansing foam, your skin will feel so much softer. It's a great product and you can find it in most department stores. If you don't want to purchase the full size products just ask for some samples at the Shiseido counter. Hope you'll give Shiseido a try. Good luck!
I've used all sorts of expensive brands. but my fave.,by far is: Ponds

Can anyone give me a name of a good cream that doesn't cost a lot of money for very extra dry sensitive skin

My skin has become very dry and sensitive and I'm fed up having to buy creams that to me that cost too much money, I'm wondering is there a really good cream out there that I can buy at a resonable price? I look forward to hearing back from other people who suffer from the same problem. Help!!!Can anyone give me a name of a good cream that doesn't cost a lot of money for very extra dry sensitive skin
The best moisturizer (in terms of effectiveness, price and lack of harmful side-effects) is Vaseline (aka Petroleum Jelly). Can anyone give me a name of a good cream that doesn't cost a lot of money for very extra dry sensitive skin
the cream we would always use on the eldery's very dry feet and skin is the best stuff I've ever found

    Eucerin cream (in the jar)

put it on at night so it can soak it. It's thick stuff
Actually the BEST cream you can use is for animals. Get some udder cream for cows. People can use it too, and it works much better than anything else you could possibly buy. You can get it at walmart, and it's about $4. Get either the lotion that comes in a white bottle with black spots (looks like a holstein cow) or get the type that comes in a green tin can with a cow on the front. I can't remember if they keep it in the pet department or the pharmacy, you would have to ask.

Or, Goldbond lotion (about $8 at walmart) is in the lotion section. It has more of a smell too it, but works all right.
I have really sensitive skin that is also dry, I use Cetaphil, you can buy it at places like Target, Walmart, ect...It's fairly inexpensive, around $10.00 for a large bottle.
    Try:

Nivea renewal night cream for body - a thin cream but very moisturizing

Queen Helene (creams in tubs) Cocoa Butter or Almond (They may have another scent) absorbs in well, and leaves dry skin really moist. Also the Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Lotion comes in a huge bottle - great to slather on.

If you want tons of lotion at a cheap price, go to the dollar stores, and their cocoa butter lotion is pretty good, as well as lots of other brands of lotions, all for a dollar a bottle.

That stuff (from the guy above) for cow's udders is called Bag Balm in the green square tin. That is really great, but very greasy (I think) petroleum jelly based with antiseptic... is healing too. You could probaby use straight petroleum jelly, cheaper.

Another one I really like and had forgotten about is Neutrogena Sesame Oil. It smells terrific!
try Aveeno. it's works incredible well for me.
Safflower oil works really well. Can be found in the baking section of your local grocery store.
Neutrogena. This sounds funny, but their foot or hand cream is really good anywhere on the body. I use it twice a day (just a little dab) and it works really well.

As well you can use Keri Bath Oil and bathe in that twice a week.

Lastly, dry exfoliate 3 times per week... gently before you shower.

Try Palmers cocoa butter, works a treat as a moisturiser or as a 10-minute face mask for dry skin! It's also relatively cheap. If you're using it on your face only use it on dry bits - for instance don't use it on your forehead if you have an oily T-zone.
Your question is rather vague. What you use might depend on where on your body you're having the dry skin problem. If you're having dry skin on your face, I'd see a doctor because most people's faces are rather oily.
this depends on where you have the dry skin. your face, your legs or your hands. if you have dry skin on your face, then you need to get Simple (brand name) light moisturiser (in cream form). dry skin on your legs or hands Johnson %26amp; Johnson body lotion.

maybe you are not drinking enough water. lack of water can cause dry skin and make you look older.
Dry skin sometimes is the way our body is telling us to have our blood sugar be tested. If your sugar is not balance the oil in the skin are being used for something else. It's like, if a person sweat a lot like crazy, there's something wrong with that person.

Also being expose to a heater contribute to the dryness of the skin. If you are using the wrong product in your skin, there might a chance of drying because it does not fit the need.
You need to treat dry skin from the inside. Food sensitivities and vitamin deficiencies can cause skin problems. But first try increasing the amount of water you drink and take supplements to make sure you have enough essential fatty acids in your diet. Eating foods like avocado, olives and nuts and seeds can also help.

Can you recommend a face cream for oily skin(with few dry patches) for under £10?

    I can reccomend 2 for under £5.

Avon Clearskin- Mattifying Moiteriser. Mattefiying is exactly what you want keeps you looking matt throughout the day.

Garnier Pure A is also good for avoiding shine. Saliytic Acid and Zinc is great for oily skin.

Good Luck xCan you recommend a face cream for oily skin(with few dry patches) for under £10?
aloe vera gelCan you recommend a face cream for oily skin(with few dry patches) for under £10?
try using teatrea oil..... it really nourishes the skin and gets rid of grease.

dont use anything to harsh on your skin (i.e. clearasil) because you have dry patches too, this will just irritate.

creams might just add to the oily skin so they are no-go too.

    Good Luck!!!
Cein at Li dell great range of creams, the most expensive is around 6 quid?hows that?
i have skin a bit like yours. i use clearasil oil control face wash first and then i put on nivea soft. its the white tub of nivea and you can use it any wear around your body not just your face. just take a little bit of it after washing your face and it should work!! try it

    good luck
Don't know if it translates into a lot of money but here in the states- Jojoba oil is very inexpensive and lasts forever. Use on face body and hair
Yes go for Oil of Olay Active Hydrogel. Its fantastic. Its water-based so totally non-greasy and leaves a lovely translucent, powdery feel behind which is unusual as it is a gel. Rub deep into the skin, using sparingly. It will moisturise the dermis beautifully while not being greasy. Patt dry with some face tissue to remove any shine. This product is excellent and lasts. You can buy it at Boots or Superdrugs. I have been buying it for years and swear but it.
E45, its PH neutral and you can get it for oily skin. Its not perfumed and is clinically sound.
oil of olay thats really good and smells lush lol
I would really recommend the face cream in the source! It has a really light texture which is perfect for oily skin yet it's really hydrating!
Mat suntan loitions like Neutrogena Dry Finish Suncreen with helioplex works wonders. It moisterizes and combats oil so pimples will start disapearing.
Ive alway used Oil of Olay, it does what it says on the packet and is good for sensitive skins.

Aslo use distilled Witch Hazel as a toner if you have oily skin. It is astringent and lightly anti septic. It helps balance the skin mantle and shrinks the pores.

What's the best cream (for men) for rough dry skin on face.?

As a guy who spends a lot of time outside in all weathers (work and leisure) I suffer from dry flaky skin which can be painful and sensitive and can become very red. Some creams aggrevate the situation, can anyone recommend something for men. I live in the U.K.What's the best cream (for men) for rough dry skin on face.?
E45 cream, available evrywhere, its cheap and not especially for either gender.

It does the absolute business on dry flaky skin, tried and tested by me and I was in the same boat as you. What's the best cream (for men) for rough dry skin on face.?
nivea for men will leave your skin soft smooth and very touchable
    Clinque makes a great facial moisturizer, but not sure if it's available in the UK%26gt;
    l'oreal energizing cream
men can use the same lusion that women use if they have no problem with that..
I've used Oil of Olay after shaving for 30 years,I'm 52 and my wife says may face and hands from putting on the lotion are softer than hers.
I have some of the L'oreal range, and addias moisturiser which is pretty good.i hope this helps, i think u need to experiment until u find what is right for yr self to be honest, one persons skin wont be the same as urs.
if you have sensitive skin like me, only use simple products.. they are cheap, effective, and have no perfume or colourants in them and do not cause irritation guaranteed!
I live in a dry climate and my face actually hurts in the wintertime.

Oil of Olay or one of the discount knock-off creams with the same formula work quite well.
    Aquarous cream

My 9 yr old sister is veryy ichy. the doctors said its just dry skin and gave her cream for it but it's not

helping. Its like a red rash all over her skin. what could it be?My 9 yr old sister is veryy ichy. the doctors said its just dry skin and gave her cream for it but it's not
Are you using a new laundry detergent in your laundry if so that could be the problem. If not and you have been using the same one for years, change up and try something different and see what happens. Also soaps that you use apply if you are using something new or different. I had the same problem and it was my laundry detergent. Anything I washed with it made me itch. Good luck.My 9 yr old sister is veryy ichy. the doctors said its just dry skin and gave her cream for it but it's not
Make sure that the doctor has checked for exzema, it's like a dry rash at first but if it keeps becoming aggrevated it could become red or spread. Also make sure she's not coming down with chicken or small pox, I hear that they're coming back. This advice is coming from a mom.
Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and use a face pack of ripe bananas and honey. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for dry skin at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/dryskin.html
she could be getting dried out from the heat in the house get a humidifier and try it. she may also have yellow jaunders if her skin is sore . touch her and see if she shies away or hollers
An allergy-I get hives from fabric softeners, some are deadly.
nerves can do give you this type of rash. if this continues go to a different doctor
It could be a number of things from: bath soap, laundry soap, hand soap to any types of food. Just monitor her for a week and have her try different soaps that have no fragances in them. I used ALL laundry soap because it is non-allergic. Bath soap I used Dove.

As for the food, just watch and see what she has been eating and elimate the anything that causes the itchingness.
    allergies-try benadryl eczema-try hydrocortisone cream
It should be a passing phase, in the meantime, try vitaC. I guess it's good for maintaining healthy epithelial tissues.
Could very well be dry skin especially if you have started using the heat in the house. Have her try some Aveeno in her bath, may do the trick.
What ever the reason for the itchy skin is probably the same reason for the skin to be dry. I doubt if the dryness is causing the itch. There are 10 million reasons for the skin to itch but the most likely is some kind of allergic condition or at least a sensitivity to something your sister is in contact with. This should be checked out with exam, blood tests and skin tests.

In the meantime some kind of antihistamine is probably the least likely to do any harm.
Make sure she doesn't take long hot baths or showers. That dries skin out during the winter.
I rashes and very dry skin occur alot in my family. My mom buys this body soap that is the Aveeno brand and it is lavender scented. It works very well on me. I don't really know what it could be. Maybe poison ivy? It can't be caused by any STD's because she is only 9 years old! I wish I knew the answer but I am sorry, I don't.
could be ezcema. google pics and compare them. she should go to a dermatologist. give her bynadyl for itchiness before she goes to bed
it could be an allergic reaction to something or an illness. go back to the doctor or go to another one. if the crean is not working she needs other treatment. itching is a form of pain and can become almost unbearable if not treated properly.

What is a good cream for uneven toned skin(also dry and wrinkled)?

my skin tone is uneven and i can never find a good cover up i also have some wrinkle under my eyes. What is a good cream for uneven toned skin(also dry and wrinkled)?
Roc makes a great eye cream, it should really help with wrinkles if you use it morning and night. Also get an alpha hydrody acid cream (AHA) like Neutrogena's and use it every other night all over your face, except your eye area, that will help with wrinkles and skintone. And use a moisturizer day and night, preferably something with sunscreen in it like Oil of Olay with spf 15. I've tried a lot of different concealers and foundations, but I like Cover Girl concealer and Bare Minerals foundation best. I like these because not only do they work well but you can pretty much buy them anywhere and that's really convenient, with the exception of the foundation but I've found that it lasts a really long time. What is a good cream for uneven toned skin(also dry and wrinkled)?
Get some Vitamin C Oil. You can get it at a vitamin shop and it's less expensive than say, through Avon. Apply liberally every night under whatever cream you like. It's great.
Try the Skin Renewal by Clinique, because it will result brighter even skin tone and minimize fine lines.

I use it by myself (I don't have a wrinkle but I use if for the uneven skin tone because of the acne).

    This product doesn't cause breakout.

For the undereye, I use Shiseido.

    Hope this is help!
I could say it, but you would think I was a pervert!
What you should look for is a moisturizer with salicylic acid. It wont happen immediately but will over a short time help to even out your skin tone and may reduce the appearance of wrinkles however, you must be careful with salicylic acid near your eyes. You can also use a tinted moisturizer, they will help to give you the appearance of an even skin tone. Neutrogena makes these types of products. Good luck.
    Hi

Are we talking about a moisturizing cream or a cover-up cream/make-up?

Kiehls makes great moisturizers that can help reduce uneven skin tones from overexposure to prefumes and dyes. A lot of people are senstive to these and have blotchy, red skin, but don't realize it. Try a non-detergent cleanser without dyes or perfumes and see if your complexion improves. You may not need a concealer.

Wrinkles are natural, but good skin care and staying out of the sun are essential to minimizing them. Again, Kiehls makes several levels of moisturizers--oil free to very dry/repairing. From several companies, you can also get a tea-tree oil stick, a vitamin E stick (or oil capsules), or use 100% cocoa butter--but all of these are very strong and only for very dry skin. Use at night, before bed.

As always, a dermatologist will know best and they can provide really great suggestions and/or prescription for your specific concerns. Give them a try before you spend your hard-earned money on expensive wrinkle creams that may not work for YOU!

    Good luck, my friend!

  • Can cold cream cause damage to your dry face skin if used every day? (facial, moisturizer)?

i have very, very dry/sensitive skin and i've been using pond's cold cream for the past several days which has been doing wonders but i was curious about any side effects (i.e. free-radical damage, excessive dryness afterwards, etc). i'm about to try just regular baby oil. also, i heard you can make your *own* cold cream so i plan on making some without borax/sodiumBorate. does anyone know where i can find beeswax in local retail stores? thank you.Can cold cream cause damage to your dry face skin if used every day? (facial, moisturizer)?
Cold cream is perfectly safe for you. I have combo skin and experienced my first bout of severe dryness after using Noxzema. My mom gave me some of her generic cold cream. After only a few days uses, the dry skin healed, I had no breakouts, and I got compliments on my skin. I use it twice a day and go at least one day using organic high fat yougurt in the morning instead of cold cream. Be sure to gently wipe the cream off with a washcloth instead of just rinsing it.

As for making your own, it is not worth it. The simple, basic cold cream is time-tested. To make it yourself requires cost, experimentation, etc. Just go for convenience. The borate stuff is nothing to worry about.

Oh, and avoid baby oil. It's not even good for babies. Can cold cream cause damage to your dry face skin if used every day? (facial, moisturizer)?
For daily use you should switch over to herbal products. Don't try experimenting your own cold cream. These companies do a lot of reseach and testing before launching a product. And remember you can't and should not experiment on your face. This is your biggest asset.

I've had eczema for years and tried all sorts of lotions, salves, aquaphor, prescriptions, etc.. nothing ever worked without coming with a scary black box warning or weird chemicals.

I finally found Burt's Bees Res-Q ointment. It's about $5 a tin and the main ingredients are all natural, comfrey, allantoin, and lavandin. Safe for baby! I used it on a really bad patch of eczema on my bottom eyelid and it was literally entirely gone in 2 days!!

    It's definitely worth a try!
Hi. Yes a great brand is called Mustela. Its doctor recommended, and gentle on skin. Its specially made for children, like newborns or up and pregnant women.

My mother used this on me all the time when I was little and we still use it now. I had eczema too and have no more problems.

You can buy it at Bath and Body Works. Its a european brand and works wonders.

    Good luck
my daughter has that too. Her doctor prescribed eucerin. Its over the counter regular thick lotion. Her and her cousin both use the same thing. Also his doctor can prescribe an even stronger lotion.
Aquaphor is excellent for relieving extremely dry skin. a thin layer of Vaseline after his bath is also good. eating fish rich in omega3(tuna, salmon) will also help your child.
Aveeno brand creams are supposed to be helpful. We use them for itchy mosquito bites maybe it would help excema.
Sudocrem ? and theres another one but i can't think what it is go and see your gp and they will give you something

I believe it was in January 2002 that I started a search for the ';perfect'; hand cream for me. At that time I thought it would be no problem, but then my hands decided to break out in a rash with every hand cream I used. I finally caved in and purchased a tube of the expensive, yet highly recommended, L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. I'm just starting on my second tube of this product I have to say despite the price, I'm so happy I purchased my first (and now second) tube of L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream.

The tube is totally no frills. The metal tube has a black screw on/off cap and a brown paper label. Everything on the label is in both English and French, for you see, L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream is a product of France.

    Hope This answer help you.

Neutrogena Cream for Sensitive Skin works wonders. It's oil free and helps create a lot of moisture without shine.

You would just apply a quarter size amount to your hand and then rub over your entire face and neck. You should use it at LEAST every morning, but every morning and night is even better.
Use the nourishing cream before going to bed for better results. Yogurt-honey combination also helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. What's the best brand of facial cream for very dry skin?

Help! I'm 34, getting married in two months and really want to ';shine'; on my wedding day! I recently bought Clinique's RepairWear foundation make-up, which is supposed to be good for dry skin and hiding ';the first signs of aging';, but I feel like it does just the opposite! It makes my wrinkles stand out and dries out my forehead and nose so much that my skin flakes and peels off. A clerk at a make up counter (not a Clinique rep) told me the make-up is fine; what I need is a new moisturizer. Besides my daily facial cream (which I vary in terms of brands) I've used Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion under the base, as well as Moisture On Call. This clerk said I need something stronger and recommended some Biotherm products. I've also considered Clinique's Superdefense cream. But before spending a fortune on a bunch of different products that don't work any better than what I've used to date, I thought I'd check around and see what other people recommend. Thanks! What's the best brand of facial cream for very dry skin?

Please help...The questions about acne cream and excessively dry skin...Thanks :)?

Well ive been using this acne cream and this other thing for acne i got from the dermatologist in Singapore(While i was visiting fam.) and well it was working REALLY well there and there's SO much humidity in Singapore that i didnt even need to put on moisturizer so that my skin wouldnt dry out...umm then i got back to where i live and after a few days my skin started drying out pretty bad and i started reapplying moisturizer so that the drying would stop, after a while the drying got pretty bad, like i would have to apply moisturizer multiple times a day and i wouldnt be able to smile cause the my skin would crack...so after that started happening i just decided to stop applying the creams until my skin got more hydrated..and SO i was just wondering if it was a good idea to stop using the cream for a bit until my skin got a little bit more hydrated AND i wanted to know if its normal and thats just part of the healing process...

By the way, i used the stuff for almost 4 weeks and on the fourth week thats when it started drying out badly...

    THANKYOU! :)

    srry its kinda long!

Another thing like 90% of my acne healed but i still wanted to apply the creams cause of the other 10% and my dermatologist said it would help with the scars/marks that i might get(im talking about the pigmentation marks, you know those kinda brow ones...)Please help...The questions about acne cream and excessively dry skin...Thanks :)?
I wont be much help but did you make sure to use sunscreen? Prescription products make your skin much more sensitive to the sun, especially topical ones. When choosing a sunscreen, make sure it is OIL-FREE and NON-COMEDOGENIC. Sunscreen is a must. Look for sunscreens with at least an SPF of 30. I recommend getting a product solely for sun protection rather than get a product with added SPF. Sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure and EVERY 2-3 hours. Most people forget it has to be reapplied frequently when outside. And your steifel prescription is a retinol product. This makes your skin thinner and more sensitive. Avoid any scrubs and exfoliators or anything abrasive. And make sure you aren't using anything glycolic. Prescription products may not react well with natural products so stop using any oils you use at night. Just use what the dermatologist prescribed. Retinol products make your skin so thin that you have to stop application before even waxing your eyebrows. What happened in your situation though is the extreme weather change. Retinol products make you more sensitive to the cold, wind, and sunlight. The drying is a reaction to this. Just keep applying it and your skin should adjust within 4 weeks. You may also consider ONLY applying these products at night due to the increased sensitivity to the sun. as for your moisturizer, your skin type seems to have changed. You no longer have oily skin. Make sure your moisturizer is formulated for dry skin and once again is oil-free and non-comedogenic. If it is catered towards oily/combination skin types then it may be more mattifying thus further limiting oil production. Once again, dotn use any other products. Dont even use a toner as many contain alcohol and will be drying to your skin. The most you should be using is a BASIC cleanser meaning not medicated and non-abrasive, a moisturizer. and ESPECIALLY SUNSCREEN (I recommend La Roche Posay. It should be cheaper where you live rather than in the U.S.) Stop your nightly rituals and stop using those oils or any of that. If you can, see your dermatologist and bring those products to him/her so he/she can give a better explanation.

Try using only one of the products. Using 2 might be excessively drying. Next time you see your dermatologist, ask about if he/she can prescribe a topical gel that contains both clindamycin phosphate and tretinoin rather than you having to take 2 separate products of them. I recommend Ziana but Im not sure if that is available in your country. This will limit the amount of products you use on your face. Your dermatologist may also prescribe a prescription strength moisturizer to help with this problem.

btw...if you were left with just scars, then I would recommend Retin-A Micro. again...not sure if this is available in your country. its a retinol product as well. Its actually the most popular one out there. and make sure its the micro. Regular Retin-A is not water soluble and will lead you to having to wait a half hour after washing your face before application. Please help...The questions about acne cream and excessively dry skin...Thanks :)?
Wow that cream sounds wonderful (is it retin a)?

Anyway I'd lay off it until your skin breaks out again and settles back to the climate.

Find a gentle face wash, toner (witch hazel) balances face and keeps pores smaller, and apply the acne cream you have on blemishes

otherwise use wash cloth in the shower with the face wash in the AM to gently exfoliate the skin -

    Drink a lot more water

and take vitamins a e and c if you can.

I also have a discount code ';zen4less'; which you could use just in case you decide to buy online from them.

Can I use Vitamin E (cream) for my dry skin/pimples?

I have washed my face with water, now feel that my skin is dry. Along with the dryness, I have some acne/pimples located over my face.

Would it be OK to use the Vitamin E CREAM for my dry skin and acne/pimples would it clog my pores and make my acne/pimples worse?

Do you apply Veet hair removal lotion, cream, etc. to dry or wet skin?

I've never used Veet before. I just got the Veet Rapid Action Hair Removal Lotion. Do I apply it to wet or dry skin?

Also, I'm going camping tomorrow and my legs (which I will have used Veet on) are going to be exposed. Should I keep them covered for 24 hours or will it be okay?

  • Best lotion/cream for dry/itchy skin? in the $10-15range & smells good?

Why not try using a mousturizing body wash instead? Dove and Ivory make good ones. Used in the shower, they work better. Your body tends to absorb more when it is wet and your pores are open. I always do this during the winter months. Of course if you don't want to go that route, use Johnson %26amp; Johnson's plain baby lotion in the pink bottle. It will work wonders. This time of year, I use both. Take care and good luck.Best lotion/cream for dry/itchy skin? in the $10-15range %26amp; smells good?
My husband has terribly dry and scaly skin and he uses Dermarest. It works really well!Best lotion/cream for dry/itchy skin? in the $10-15range %26amp; smells good?
I've been using a lotion found at Sam's Club and sometimes at Wal-Mart called Gene's. Its for dry and sensitive skin. It's think and smooth and goes for about 7 bux for a jug of it.

For itchy/dry skin you could also try gold bond medicated lotions. Hope this helps.
Try using Vasoline at night on the dry/scaly skin. During the day use lotions with good scents. I use vasoline all over my body at night (even my face) and have no dry scaly patches (i used to)
Dry skin always so irritating...I hate it so much...I suggest you try using Zenmed Derma Lotion from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com.

Zenmed has no side effects and it's non-irritant to the skin. It's proven to works fast and it provides Maximum results! It's certainly a good lotion to prevent further outbreaks.

Another product that I think is effective is Atopalm. This dry skin mlm is one of the best seller at skinstore.com now. (Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It's pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.

Victoria's Secret has great lotion that costs about $10. My fave scent is the Pear Glace.
Look up the brand Eucerin. Very effective and affordable.
Try Nivea it is very affordable , walmart kmart, walgreens
    Eucerin is good, and unscented.
Try Caress brand. It works best for me.

Which cream should i use to make my skin look good as i have dry skin?

I have extremely dry skin too. I used to use clinique creams and they worked very well but recently my face has been dryer than normal and none of the shop bought creams seem to have worked.

So before I go to bed I've been putting a little olive oil on my face, then after it's soaked in for a while I popped a little Vaseline over the top. The olive oil sinks in to the skin and moisturises and the Vaseline sits on top of the skin and helps to prevent any further drying.

Sounds weird but it has helped.

In the past I've also used royal jelly products and they have been very good too.Which cream should i use to make my skin look good as i have dry skin?

I like using Mary Kay moisturizer on my face. It keeps ot hydrated, but not greasy. Also, a few tips from Cosmo for dry skin...

    Soften Your Bod with Avocado

Take a ripe avocado, remove the pit and skin, and mash it up in a bowl. Slather it all over your body, let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse off. Your skin will be sooo soft 鈥?avocado is a natural moisturizer.

    Make an Egg-White Mask

To revive tired, dull skin without hitting the spa table, try this: Crack open an egg in a bowl, separate the yolk, and use the egg whites to make a face mask. The proteins help to heal and restore skin's moisture. Leave it on for five minutes, then rinse off.I have dry skin on my face what is the best facial cream in shops?
You can start by changing something use most likely use everyday.... SOAP.

Try to use natural handmade glycerin soap (bar) over cheap commercial brands. I personally use Lifeworks handmade Soaps. Here is the reason why:

    Glycerin

One of the most important differences between handmade soap and commercial soap is Glycerin, a humectant, meaning it attracts and holds moisture to your skin. Glycerin is a natural by-product of the soap making process, and while commercial manufacturers remove the glycerin for use in their more profitable lotions and creams, Lifeworks handmade soap retains glycerin in each and every bar.

    Oils

While most commercial soaps contain animal fats to keep production costs low, Lifeworks soaps do not. Our soap is made from high quality vegetable oils along with other exotic oil blends. We don't and never will use any animal by products in the makings of our soap. Not only for the love of animals, but also for the dignity of our customers skin. Who wants to bath themselves in lard?

    Chemicals

After the use of cheap animal fats, and extracting all the glycerin out, commercial soaps are forced to fill in the gaps with chemicals. Cleansers, detergents, stabilizers, and other harsh additives. Detergents are great for dishes and clothes, not for your skin. These chemicals and the lack of glycerin mean that the soap often irritates, drys, and wrinkles people's skin or causes allergic reactions.

I find Lifeworks soap to be relitively cheap considering they last 5 times longer then a regular commercial bar, and they also contain glycerin. So you save more money by not having to buy expensive lotions and creams to fix the damage commercial soap causes in the first place.
    Creme 21 =) It's great.
    Palmer's Cocoa Butter, Concentrated.

It's not expensive and lasts forever.

    And smells -A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-! :D
i have dry skin too but i hate facial cream wash. i like foam wash more. i am currently using a Dead Sea face wash from boots.... i think i will buy this again...
I think No need of any product.......

used to wash your face with fresh water..........

    apply oil daily............

    Dont cange your soaps.............
don't go for expensive ones. I think E45 or Aqueous cream is good.

  • What body cream would you recommend for dry skin?

I think lubriderm's still the best. If you are really dry, think about baby oil, especially right after the shower or in the bath. What body cream would you recommend for dry skin?
    gloves in a bottle

Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that rapidly absorbs into, and bonds with, the outer layer of skin creating a protective layer while retaining the natural moisture from within. This makes it the perfect dry skin care product.

It does not wash off, but comes off naturally with exfoliated skin cells. Just reapply every four hours for continued protection.

    It's greaseless, non-sticky, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, completely safe and non-toxic.

Used and recommended daily for dry skin conditions by a wide range of healthcare professionals.

Conventional moisturizing lotions only attempt to replace the loss of natural moisture with artificial moisture, but come off every time you wash or touch something.

Have you ever stopped using artificial moisturizers (conventional lotions) only to experience an episode in which your skin actually became drier than it was before you started using them?

When you apply artificial moisture (conventional lotions) to the skin's surface you are often sending the body the wrong signal - that your skin is being adequately moisturized, when in fact it is actually dehydrated of natural moisture. This ';wrong signal'; often results in the reduction of your skin's own production of the natural moisture needed to actually resolve a dry skin condition.

In order for any moisture to actually improve a dry skin condition more than for a few minutes or a little longer, it needs to get below the second major layer of skin. In reality, the only moisture that is going to reach this level in sufficient quantities to resolve a dry skin problem over the long term is your skin's own natural moisture.

A far better solution is to assist your skin in producing more natural moisture - not less.

Until now, all one could do to alleviate a dry skin condition was apply conventional lotions (artificial moisture). These are designed to just temporarily mask dry skin by placing artificial moisture over the top of it.

Unlike artificial moisturizers, Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that bonds with the outermost layer of skin cells to turn it into what works like an invisible pair of gloves.

These ';invisible gloves'; prevent dry skin by helping to keep moisture-robbing irritants out while better retaining your skin's own natural moisture, resulting in skin that is far better hydrated, over the long term, than what can ever be achieved by conventional lotions.

Read what many dermatologists say about Gloves In A Bottle.

Many household and workplace chemicals, and even cosmetics and fragrances, are absorbed directly into the skin, often causing skin disorders or just plain cracked, dry skin. When cleaning, cooking or participating in activities from gardening to painting, skiing to fishing, or exposure to harsh weather, you are further drying and irritating your skin.

When you know you should be wearing gloves, but can't or just don't want to because they are also drying or irritating, at least wear Gloves In A Bottle.

One application of Gloves In A Bottle lasts four hours or more and comes off naturally as you exfoliate the outer most layer of skin cells. What body cream would you recommend for dry skin?
Hemp lotion is the best, they come in many scents or plain. it cleared up my dry skin problem. I also use this coco butter gel like baby oil. I got it at target for like $5, and i apply it 3 times a week. It good to, its like baby oil but w/o all the mess and extra wetness.
I have oily skin but I heard that Kerri lotion and Pond's lotion and Liberderm lotion are very good
I use Johnson %26amp; Johnson's baby lotion. It smells so good and makes your skin so soft and silky! Plus, it is very inexpensive.
Vaseline. just vaseline. nightly renewal's the best
    Try Gold Bond

Best lotion or cream to use for dry skin in the winter?

Curel Natural Healing Moisturizing Lotion, Lavender, Chamomile %26amp; Oatmeal Extracts - I used it during the summer when I basically deep fried my legs in the sun. The doctors couldn't prescribe a good burn cream because I'm allergic to an ingrediant in it and none of the otc things they had me try helped so I went in search for myself. My legs were excessivly dry and after a few days of using this lotion, they were nice and smooth again (although still discolored). The lotion is not greasy and smells wonderful as well. Oatmeal is wonderful for dry, cracked skin.

I also highly recommend Burts Bee's lip balm.Best lotion or cream to use for dry skin in the winter?
Get your hands on some pure Vitamin E oil. You can buy it at most chemists. It is inexpensive and incredibly useful. Not only does it help dry skin (better than anything I've ever tried) but if used regularly it can considerably reduce the appearance of other skin afflictions, such as scarring, stretchmarks, rashes, etc.Best lotion or cream to use for dry skin in the winter?
Probably Aloe Vera. There are two materials that are the best. For fresh injuries of the skin or flesh that require either stitches or some kind of bandage to keep the wound closed, vitamin E oil is the best. The best is tecopheryl as opposed to tecopherol as it is a higher level of oil refinement. Applying vitamin E every few hours will reduce scarring and speed healing. For dry skin and cracked skin, winter dry skin or summer sunburn, etc. get the purest Aloe Vera you can get. You can even take a stalk of aloe vera cactus and break it open and apply the gel to the skin. It feels very cool and soothing, and it holds large amounts of moisture and feeds the skin and increases healing. Apply liberal amounts of aloe vera gel to sunburn or dry skin, every few hours, and it outperforms everything available anywhere. I would even think that alternating between aloe gel and vitamin E would be very helpful. I hope this helps!
natural Shea butter...makes your skin look marvelous
I just asked my pharmacist the same question a few days ago. She advised me to use a lotion with lanolin in it.
shea butter, vaseline, body shop's moisturizer, nivea...
Most of the Bath and Body Works lotions and creams are excellent.
I like Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Butter
A dermatologist friend of mine likes 'Cetaphil' if you have dry skin. It's available over the counter.
Try avoiding long hot showers. When you get out of the shower, still dripping wet, apply the heaviest lotion you can tolerate (ie. Aquaphor). Take care!
anything with vitamin E in it

What should I use, for night cream and day cream.......flaky dry facial skin?

best facial moisturizer for extremely dry sensitive skin, anti-aging benefits (i'm almost 30 years old)? What should I use, for night cream and day cream.......flaky dry facial skin?
First of all this is not a joke. Go to a farm supply store or call one. Ask them if they have the real product that is used on cows udders that is referred to as udder balm. (some stores have a product that is marketed as udder balm but is made for humans, this stuff is the real deal that I am describing) This is the best cream you will ever find for dry skin and almost nobody except farmers know this. This stuff is so good that if you have cracked skin from winter weather it will heal your hands even if you work outside. It usually comes in a pretty big jar because the people buying it need more than just a little so if you get some, also get some nice little containers to put it in and place them where you are likely to see them and use them often. This stuff does not have all of the crap in it that other creams have in order to enhance its sales such as perfume or whatever. It has almost no scent and what it has is a nice scent. It is not expensive. It is absolutely not toxic. And my daughter who is very fair skinned and sensitive isn't bothered by it at all. Try it you will love it. If you do, share it with all of your family and friends, they will thank you for it.What should I use, for night cream and day cream.......flaky dry facial skin?
